Any negative experiences with people on this site?

I don't mean to complain, (I'm just interested) but have you had any negative experiences with people on this site? For me, it's been great so far, the only one that springs to mind is where someone said my username screams ten-year old, which would have offended my apart from:

a) they are so right about that
b) I was nine years old at the time, so I thought it was a compliment

I got scammed ingame, wrote a negative rating, they wrote me falsely negative one back, a mod had to force them to give me back my items and their negative feedback got removed.
That's why I don't trade on here anymore, real feedback shouldn't be deleted.

Yeah, an user here I talked to for really long turned out to the worst and accusing me of things and refused to work it out. O well.

I don't had anything with Wi-fi ratings and such so I guess that is good yes? c:

No, and hopefully it stays that way.

With trades, always look at their feedback rating. If you see sketchy behavior like someone stealing flowers or being a pain to deal with, that should say everything. Most people on here have 100%, especially if it's a high number of trades. If you see someone with less than 100%, I'd look at their feedback before trading with them in case. Always remember to delete FCs afterward unless you want them of course.

I wouldn't take the username comment to heart. As long as you like it, who cares what others think.

I've never had any problems involving Wi-Fi ratings, but I've had one or two issues with people in the past. One was pretty simple and he just didn't like me at all, and the other was a little more complex and I don't even know what that person ended up doing. 99% of the time, this community has been lovely! If I thought otherwise, I would have left a long time ago.

Hmm I've seen and heard of people around here having negative experiences, but so far I haven't had anything noteworthy happen to me personally. Ingame or on these forums.

Ingame stuff tends to be much more cut and dried, someone came into a town uninvited, stole stuff, didn't follow the rules. People don't really fuss about manners in the same way they do here or in RL, as the game makes it harder than it should be to communicate, I think. But on the forums if your comment is misread or you didn't express yourself very well, things can escalate *very* quickly.

Eh, I think these forums are run very very well, and things are kept as civil as they can be whilst still allowing politics et al to be discussed.

I had one before, and it's a really bad one.

It was a long time ago when some people were losing patience in me for having conservative opinions. Some user even encouraged others to hate on me, including liking the posts and tags insulting me and agreeing with people with heavy biases against me even if I'm right or if everyone involved are wrong. Then he called out my name in one post, saying that "I need to realize that everybody hates me" and suggests changing my political views if people continue blocking me. He was even filled with hate when he made that post. It's been 17 months since and I still haven't forgiven him, nor will I ever forgive him. Honestly, if someone says that "nobody likes you" or "everybody hates you" towards you when only that person or a few more do, that's not just bullying, but it's going to damage their credibility.

I can also remember receiving a backlash for threatening to sell what I won in a giveaway very early in my experience on this site then blogging about it later, but I'm not going to continue that story. That story is done.

In terms of trading, I never really had a bad experience with online play from this site or other sites.

i've gotten into a bunch of drama on here and sometimes it hasn't actually been partly because of me. like that time people started talking in a kinda transphobic and rude way about me in either the random thoughts or the what's bothering you thread, i don't remember.

also i know a lot of people on here dislike me because they show it lol but it doesn't bother me that much unless we get into drama. and ik i'm not exactly the nicest person around so ehh

buut what i dislike the most is probably the transphobia tbh. not very often directly directed at me but it has happened and it's not my favourite thing in the world

Yeah quite a few. Some people have just been horrible out of nowhere and insulted me over stupid things

there are a few....irritating users but i mostly just try to ignore them and go on with my business. thankfully i haven't gotten scammed /been given falsely negative feedback. oh, someone did take advantage of my lack of knowledge on tbt prices when i first started trading, but i could've done more research i guess. i'm a lil bitter but it's not a huge deal.
