Any plans for your town?

I really want a beach house because we couldn't in previous games. But I also want a house in an overgrown part of my island though. So hard to choose!

You could always have a ton of palm trees and weeds around your house to make it look like an overgrown beach !

I'm planning on making a little neighborhoodin one section of my island. I would love to make paths leading to everyones houses, and now that I actually get a say in where they go I can have everyone in a uniform litle area with front yards and stuff. I already know I'm going to go crazy decorating my island this time around.

I'm definitely going rustic with my island; I'm talking: pine trees, cabins, tents and fairy lights. Here's hoping that reconstructing the island to suit your aesthetic comes with ease.

As said before, likely an old, victorian-esque feel with some naturalism. I was considering making a Halloween-themed town as well. Since I will likely have one town, I will try to combine both elements.

I don't have plans yet. At first I will play normally. I don't want to rush things this time and play day to day without worrying about design :)

I'm imagining a very lush, nature based Island/forest with natural paths (i'm excited to see what the options will be!)

I'd like to have parts of it creepy, with dead trees, and black/purple flowers. I hope we can still get dead trees when perfect fruit trees die off. I love the look of them.

Lots of hidden oasis' though.

In my New Leaf town I had the four player houses near each other with a courtyard in the middle and it was nice, but not quite right. Now that I can choose where the villagers live (and maybe the shops too) I can properly implement my courtyard from New Leaf.

I also want to make a park that has the chess set items for a large outdoor chess game. If the path making item has different types of paths available, I can use it to make the squares for the chess board.

That sounds totally awesome!

I'm hoping we can somehow get the HHD giant furniture.

I'd definately have that egg out.
Dragons lair. :)

I haven't really thought much about how my island should look, but I do know I would like it to be natural, yet nicely organized. I have seen dream towns in New Leaf that were so nice and neatly organized, it makes me want to try to do the same thing. So yeah, organized and natural. Not sure where I'll place my house though. Depends on what my island will look like.

In another thread I mentioned that I was naming my town Africa, human villager Toto and my town tune would be Toto's Africa.
Firstly I was thinking about villagers that would go with the theme of Africa.
Here's a shortlist of villagers:
Savannah
Boots
Rex
Ike/Grizzly (There used to be Atlas bears in Africa but they are now sadly extinct)
Kiki
Ellie
Drift/Wart jr
Peewee
Bubbles
Flora
Shari
Leonardo
Hornsby/Tank
Spork

I have also been thinking about theming the rooms in the house on Toto's most prominent music videos.
For instance, Africa(Of course lol),Rosanna,Hold the Line,Georgy Porgy,99,Don't Chain my Heart,I'll be Over You,Waiting For Love,Stranger in Town,Won't Hold You Back,Stop Loving You,Pamela,2 Hearts,I Will Remember and The Turning Point.

The fact that we can place furniture outside in NH got me thinking about furniture that would fit in with my theme.
Mr & Mrs Flamingo,Paper Tiger, elephant slide and the caterpillar sofa.

I just thought it would be cool to theme a town on a band/music, because i've never seen it been done before.

i'm tempted to go very natural- dirt paths (if possible), white lilies, pine trees... all that. campfire style furniture as well.

then again, when i tried to do this with NL, i got overwhelmed when things didn't go exactly as i wanted them to. i kept focusing too much on making the nown look nice to the point where playing became a chore. so i might just let things happen.

i do kind of want to have a specific space for villagers only, but the last time i tried that the rest of my town looked very very empty so i'm not sure.

Not really.

Theres so much we haven't seen that I don't want to plan anything yet.

I am so excited to be able to pick where the villagers live. (That was confirmed right lol)

As for my house I thing I want it on the second level of my island. By itself for any future plans for my yard. Which I?m so excited we can actually have a yard now. But I want my house to be near the river maybe even a waterfall. I?m excited to decorate my yard with actual furniture and not just flowers and other landscaping stuff. I love the swing that has been showed off so that is definitely a must.

My villagers I want them to each have their own yards so I don?t want them to live too close to each other, but I want to have little neighborhood so to say. Maybe 3 villagers in one section of the island and split them up like that. And maybe each neighborhood have like a different theme to it.

Hopefully the cafe can be on our island again because I?d love to have little tables outside the cafe to sit down and drink your coffee as well as hopefully enjoy some bakery item I?m hoping they will add.

The beach I of course want a bonfire with logs around it.

I?m just so excited and I could go on lol. But I?ll stop for now.

I don't have a set theme or plan in mind. I want to see what kind of outdoorsy items we can craft first before I decide on anything. Hopefully my island name I chose is general enough that it suits a lot of themes so I can change it up often. I know I want the beginning to look like some kind of survival island though :'D All I know for sure is EVERYONE is getting a damn personalised lawn or backyard!!! I can't wait.

i think i want to make a neighborhood for my villagers (or are they now called islanders?). ive tried to do that in new leaf, but it was difficult since i wanted to put pwps near the are and there may have been too many villagers in one spot, and it was hard to path etc. i think that since the island definitely looks bigger than the town i'll have enough space to make a spot for all my lil animal buds to live and chill. other than that id probably try to make the island look kind of like the scenes in lilo and stitch. but since the fact that you can make your own path AND place furniture outside have been shown, and ive been hearing people say you can choose where your villagers live, any idea i have could possibly come true. it's definitely gonna be easier to switch up themes now.

I've thought about putting my house on a cliff, under one, or on the beach lol. I've also thought about giving my animals little yards and possibly setting it up like a real town (having them side-by-side). I am not sure though :0
