My hair is suuuper thin and it is actually quite annoying as my hair always goes static and when I put my hair up I look bald, any tips on how to thicken my hair?
Biotin, wash less, condition more! I'd also recommend a Tangle Teezer because it very gently works through knots without ripping the hair out. A 100% boar bristle brush is supposed to prevent static but I've not tried any myself.
Use mud from a thermal source. Rub on your hair. Wait one hour and rinse. do this every day. My father started losing his hair to use his hat, but he did and came back. good luck! * climb back to horse *
I am also new here!
Have you done anything to damage the hair? if the hair is damaged, I would suggest biting the bullet and cutting it short to grow it back out. Other than that diet really affects hair, make sure you're getting enough vitamins and protein! It makes an enormous difference, but its more that it will affect fresh hair, not the existing stuff. I find cutting the dead ends of hair often helps maintain hair quality and not have the damage travel further up the strands.
Of course it's extremely hard to maintain hair condition in dry areas, so unfortunately if you live in a very dry staticy area I have no advice... sorry! As others have said wash your hair less, as washing it strips it of oil.
Oh actually, I do have SOME advice. Try get a sulfate free shampoo if you can afford it, made a world of difference for me. Sulfate is what's used in washing detergent, so I'm sure you can understand why it's not good to use on hair. Keeping your hair in protective styles like braids may also help it's condition.
Your hair will never be thicker than it is naturally. No product will cause you to develop more hair follicles. You just have to work with what you've got. If your hair is fine and thin, then you you should stick to a lightweight conditioner (but don't skip it!) and lightweight/ volumizing styling sprays and mouses, rather than oils, serums, pomades, and gels that weigh the hair down.
Large velcro rollers are great for styling with volume without using heat (you do have to wear them until your hair dries, though). If you do choose to blowdry (for the love of god stay away from flat/ curling irons if you have fine hair), then lift your hair at the roots while you blowdry to add volume and make your hair look fuller.
Braids can also make your hair look thicker if they're done right. Avoid braiding your hair too tightly, and stretch the braids after you're done to make the braids (and your hair) look thicker.
There are a million and a half styling tutorials you can watch on youtube.
