I’m really hoping it’s not just me but is anyone else having second thoughts already about where they’ve placed buildings or houses on their island? The way time goes on the more I want to change things around and it’s seriously bugging me as I don’t want to start landscaping until I have final places for everything that I’m happy with. I’m so glad we can definitely move things in this game as otherwise I’d be regretting all my choices lmao - anyone else in the same boat?

Definitely. Placed most of my buildings before I got the vaulting pole. Once the Resident Services upgrades tomorrow to a proper building I should be able to move stuff then.

I’m placing most things with the intent to move them. I’m keeping them away from current cliffs/rivers so that I can terraform easier without having to worry about moving stuff. I have a few plans for my map already.

This may be an ehhh idea though because it is EXPENSIVE to move things.

Yeah, i placed my museum really close to a villagers house and i keep accidentally going in the house instead of the museum >.<

My biggest regret is where I placed the Museum! But I knew I'd be able to move it eventually so I'm not that worried about it. I'm pretty satisfied with all my other placements at the moment. Not sure how I'll feel once I start terraforming!

i've placed most of my things knowing that i would have to move them... i don't know at what point terraforming unlocks, but i think i'll probably wait until i can terraform to start moving buildings around too much.

I regret placing of most of my buildings too. I thought I’d place my shops on a cliff, but now regret that idea and want them close to the resident plaza. Nook’s Cranny is too far away atm.
Will be placing villagers houses on the cliffs now I think, but am also waiting for the terraform option before placing anything there.

for sure. i like where my museum is right now since it’s aligned with the resident services building but i want my museum to be in its own area since it’s a fancy building

I have to move my museum, my house, and my starting villagers because most of the island was blocked off at the start.

I don’t regret Nooks cranny though.

Well, I wasn't really thinking it through and put Nook's Cranny directly behind Resident Services as I somehow thought it would replace the rent rather than be an additional shop. Tom Nook called it "a little cramped" when we held the opening ceremony which made me chuckle.

I'm not stressing though as I'll move it once that option unlocks. The museum will get moved too, but I only put it where it was because I didn't have the ladder yet and I eventually want to have it at the very top back of my island.

Oh lord yes, I just threw my villager homes anywhere I could because I planned on moving them across the river later. I did try to line them up in rows of 2 but I somehow accidentally put all the houses on the right a block forward, so they're completely uneven lmao

It's not a huge deal since I can move them but it costs 50k bell to move each villager house :( It's a lot more than I was expecting... oh well! The main problem is figuring out where everything is gonna go.

Regretting no, but it is a bit frustrating once you place a house and later find out, that one side is out of line with another house, hehe. But I don’t worry about that, since this all can be fixed later on once we get the options for this.

Of course. There wasn't much room to maneuver at the start, so I definitely want to move Nook's Cranny.

50,000 bells ain't too bad, speaking for myself. Does it cost more to move Nook's Cranny and Museum?

It costs the same to move the shops and museum, which was odd to me. I was expecting houses to be 10k-25k bells to move, which would have been more reasonable since they're smaller. 50k isn't bad but I need to move every single building on my island and I'd much rather spend those bells on other stuff :p

True. It'll definitely add up if you're moving multiple places.

Yes! I placed Nook's Cranny right behind the museum without realizing it. They are separated by the river, but I want it to look nicer in pictures. I really want to switch them. Luckily, I know they can be moved.

Not yet. I have my museum next to a waterfall and I'm having Nook's Cranny not too far away from the town plaza.

I plan to have my three Tour villagers on the other side of the river since it could use more buildings.

Yeah everything on my island is very temporary right now...definitely want to move my house and the houses of my starter residents.

I intend to move most buildings eventually.

For example I ended up placing the museum near the south beach but I'll eventually be moving to the north of town on a higher tier.
