Anyone else annoyed by amiibos?

I also have a raised grip for my sticks and I don't have to take the grip off to scan the amiibo cards- are you scanning the right area of the amiibo cards?

I did, and I got an error message on the game saying it was an invalid card. It kept saying it until I took the grips off

get Pro Controller the scanner is in the middle of the controller not on the thumb stick

I can't afford a pro controller. I only play in handheld anyway, I don't even use the kickstand since I have nowhere to play where I could.

That's strange. I got that message once too but that's because I was on the edge of the chip inside the card. How thick are your grips?

I feel like it should have been a feature even in New Leaf. As someone without Amiibo I have to carefully find new villagers and wait the old fashioned way for old ones to move out (especially since I don’t time travel either). It’s a long and slow process while with a amiibo you are guaranteed to get who you want over the course of a few days. So, I feel like it’s fair that the game makes you work for it as bit considering many other players don’t get the luxury in the first place. I’m sure it’s annoying but it does make the scanning in amiibo to get whoever thing a bit more fair in my opinion.

I’m on the side of seeing it as a benefit/improvement as well!

Scanning in amiibo in NL completely undermined my relationship with those villagers—to the point where I wouldn’t invite them at all, therefore making the cards virtually useless for my purposes.

Now I feel like I’ve actually convinced them that my Island is the place to be, and got to know them in the process.

I don’t really understand why scanning them in three times would be more annoying than grinding miles and wasting countless tickets on Island Tours. Sure we paid money for the cards, but it’s not like there’s no advantage: we still get that villager guaranteed, even if it takes three days. That’s nothing compared to how long I’ll be playing the game.

I have one of the paw print grips and never had to remove it to scan my amiibo. D:

As for the three day wait, I think it's fair? It's not too much of a hassle and feels little more natural than being able to invite them to stay with you immediately. I like to think that the three days gives the villager time to get a "feel of the land" before they decide on moving in. Plus, it also gives us more chances to collect new recipes! :)

I personally don’t mind and I think it sorta makes sense to wait for three days because it’s like introducing them to your island and convincing them to move.
