So three days ago I reset my town because I didnt like the town layout and I TT'd a LOT. I thought the excessive TTing made the game not as fun. Now I am getting bored and thinking that the only way too change the fun level is too TT again. Has anyone else been in the same boat as me?

Yes, however I was TTing to get villagers out. Now that I got most of my dream villagers; I prefer to take it slow now and only play a couple minutes everyday.

I don't time travel. If I get bored of/frustrated with the game, I stop playing until I want to play the game again. I could never time travel. I want to experience the game like it's programmed to be experienced. Waiting every day for a new event and playing through the seasons in the right season, and the holidays on the actual holiday.

I get what you mean but playing day too day just is too boring it seems like especially waiting for house/Nook shop upgrades

Some people love it fast paced, some of us like to savour each day. I don't think either is right or wrong, it's just a preference. If you really want to TT then go ahead and TT. I personally much rather enjoy each day and season as it comes.

Thats why I dont wanna TT cause of the seasons. But I just get to bored so idk what too do!

I beg to differ about that part. Obviously if nintendo made it possible to change the date and time, and villagers even recognizing that you time travel, than it is just another way of playing.

Thats The first thing I thought when I read that!

Yeah, I time traveled too much and it ruined the fun of it. I would spend countless hours time traveling to get my town perfect and it got boring fast. I'm on my 6th reset and I haven't time traveled one bit and the game is actually enjoyable again.

I TT, mainly to get rid of/find villagers
I haven't ruined any events/seasons for myself yet because I stay in the same month as real-time, so when I reach the end of that month I wind back to the start of it

When I'm largely content with my villagers I won't TT as much

This. I mean a rumour going round your town that you're "quite the time-traveller" is pretty boss eh eh

If you tt forward a lot then go back too the actual date can villagers leave?

Well Kabuki left my town when I moved someone in and then wound back a day (even though I talked to him to make sure he wasn't moving sigh, I should have been more thorough in checking)

You just have to be extra careful

Have a healthy balance of both & you'll be fine. Excessive TT, purposely experiencing Holidays can ruin the game.

The reason the developers put in a clock is to change the time if you moved timezones or it was daylight savings. It's in the technical options menu for that reason.

The implied lesson in Animal Crossing after all is to relax and do casual things like catching bugs and fishing, not speed up time to do everything even faster. I feel like these forums constantly stress and preach how to play the game in your own way because people are afraid of offending one another. But in all honesty the game wasn't meant to be played with time-traveling. If it was, time-traveling would not have any consequences at all and the game would be advertised and defined completely differently. (Change your clock to make it Easter in September kids!)

I tend to agree. The implication that the game designers intended the game to be played in a certain way seems verboten around here. However, I think you’re right. The game was certainly meant to be played in real-time--no quitting without saving, no time traveling, no scouting for villager plots to make sure nobody “objectionable” moves in. That doesn’t mean there aren’t other ways to play, or that each player isn’t a liberty to play whatever style suits them, but I definitely think the game designers had specific things in mind. I play the game in my own way, too, but just because I can do things like create temporary characters to scout for campers or village plots, does not mean that the programmers intended people to do this. Having your villagers acknowledge things like Time Traveling means only that the programmers know about it—not that they made the game so every day can be Halloween if you want (though you certainly can if you want).

I mainly TT if I'm trying to get someone out, because I have a few people I don't like in my town at the moment. However, sometimes when I've done everything there is to do in a day, I will TT a day ahead so I don't have to stop playing. I try not to do it excessively any more, as I was doing that to get someone out and I accidentally TTed out Shari...
