Anyone else not a fan of the new hourly music?

honestly, it really is just... ok. i don't have very many favorite tracks, but it's not really all bad per se! really, i like it!
i haven't heard too much of the day music but i love 2am and 5am! it just turned 3am in my game a bit ago and you better believe i turned that off LOL (but i do appreciate it, it's very goofy and unique and i'm a huge fan of the GC soundtrack, it just doesn't mix well at all with this particular entry if that makes sense? ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY TOOK OUT GYROIDS BUT THAT'S A RANT FOR ANOTHER DAY)

i'm sure it'll grow on me! it's already starting to. but this has for sure got me listening and appreciating new leaf's music a lot more... i miss you 4am... that really was my favorite song to listen to after staying up too late...

bit too upbeat, it’s not as relaxing and doesn’t really reflect the mood i want to feel while playing. i’d looooove an option to rotate between these soundtracks and soundtracks from the older games

I like 12 am, 6pm, 5am and a lot of the morning ones. I wish there was way more piano though, I miss old stuff like WW/CF because those were the games that really got me hooked on animal crossing. There are a ton I don't like, or they sound too similar though

I like it. To me they sound like a combination of all the hourly music from the past games, especially the first one. I find it kind of nostalgic.

You know, nostalgia is a powerful thing. It's good to remember New Horizons is NOT New Leaf. It will have to grow on you I suppose.

I never paid much attention to the New Leaf music, other than that is was there. It reflected the right time of the day I suppose. I could always get away from real life and enjoy my village.

Recently, in anticipation of New Horizons, my sister send me a playlist of the hourly music of New Leaf, I realized how much the music had become part of the experience I had in New Leaf. I could practically recall the things I was doing during the time of day. I vividly recall catching bugs in the late afternoon on a warm summer day, just because of the music. Mind you, I probably haven't played New Leaf for over 5 years. Ever since I found those playlists I started listening to them during my work, as it helps me focus. I do love them now.

I think it works the other way around too. Playing Animal Crossing the last few days, reminds of me of that wonderful time in the summer of 2013. I reckon my brain also expects the same music, so when this new 'funky' music hit my ears for the first time, I was 'wth!! What is this?'.

I like that they changed the music up. This is a different game after all. Let's hope that in a couple of weeks/months it will have worked it magic on New Horizons, much like the New Leaf music did for that game. :)

I understand your point, but when I say old games, I'm not just referring to New Leaf. The music from Wild World, City Folk AND New Leaf far surpasses that of New Horizons imo (I never played the game cube). I'm trying to like NH's music but still, it's not growing on me. I don't find it memorable whatsoever and I don't even find myself noticing it's playing half the time. It all just sounds the same.

They're a bit same-y but I don't mind. I liked the piano in new leaf!

i’ve only just unlocked the hourly music today but i don’t mind it! each song kind of sounds similar to one another but i don’t hate it aha

I'm not digging the funkier ones at all, but I think they will eventually blend into the background and I won't notice them.

tbh i didn't even notice the difference. i upgraded res today and i thought i heard a difference but i couldn't tell. i usually have spotify in the background anyway

The hourly themes kind of give me more GC vibes, they're a lot more spunky compared to NL and CF in my opinion. They do kinda of blend into each other, instead of sounding unique.

I' starting to like certain music, I like 12PM, 4PM, 5PM and 8PM for now. I remember I felt the same way for each Animal Crossing game, eventually I will like all songs.

I haven't unlocked this yet, but this makes me REALLY excited for it.

The 2 PM music is driving me insane and I always happen to be playing at 2 PM.

I was looking forward to unlocking it, but after reading this thread I listened to a few songs on youtube and yeah... :( I already miss NL soundtrack

I have some mixed feelings about the tracks, mostly the daytime ones. The daytime ones seem to blend into each other more and not have much difference between them while the nighttime ones seem to be a little bit more unique from one another.

I haven't listened to many of the daytime ones but I do like 12 PM. The nighttime ones I'm so far a bigger fan of.

I really like 9 PM, 12 AM (is it just me or does the 12 AM soundtrack sound like 1 AM from City Folk?? I get similar vibes), 1 AM, 2 AM (so far my favorite), and 3 AM is hilarious.
as funny as 3 AM sounds I don't think anything can ever top 2 AM from Gamecube.

Wasn't a fan of this OST at all besides a few select tracks when I heard it from the datamine. After hearing them in game though, my opinion has somewhat changed. Daytime themes have actually grown on me, though I still think many of them sound too close to one another. Still don't like the early night themes (8pm to 11pm) at all. The super late night themes are mostly good though.
