Sometimes it happens to me that i think to have all the Villagers i was looking for and then i feel unsatisfied with one or some of them.

It's horrible because is a never ending cycle that happens too in New Leaf until i found the perfect team for my Town.

Do you ever feel like this before?

Yeah definitely. I have 3 or 4 that I have no interest in losing, ever. The rest I am constantly changing my mind.

I feel like the idea of needing to have 10 permanent villagers is an unfortunate, invented standard. Certainly not how the game is designed to be played and something that certain portions of the fandom put unnecessary value and pressure on (similar to the idea of a ‘finished town/ island’) but which should have no bearing in your own game, unless that is what brings you joy.

For people who enjoy playing this way, fine, but there is absolutely no reason to feel bad, or like it is somehow ‘wrong’ or ‘horrible’ to change what villagers live in your town.

I have at least 50-100 favorites, and a constantly changing vision of my “permanent” villagers (who I know probably won’t be, but it makes me as happy to plan out s permanent lineup as it does to change that lineup completely) I love finding new favorites and island hopping, and that is a fun part of the game for me. I don’t view it as a problem.

There’s a ton or reasons why you might want to change up the villagers on your island and none are incorrect.

Don’t think of it as a problem to solve, or something you are doing that is bad! You should play the game absolutely any way that makes you happy. Anyone who tells you otherwise is 100% incorrect.

I know in the past I used to be very protective of my villagers because I had this mindest of "Well I got all my 10 dreamies so thats it" It was then I realized after about month playing that villagers I had started to become really stale. Once you gotten their photo there is not much to do with them. They would still feel happy to talk to you, give you gifts that you've seen already (clothing seems to be the most common), and they will run up to you and try to change the greeting or nickname even though you told them "No" several times.

So I made the decision to let most of my villagers move out and it did free up the energy I needed to look for different villagers. Of course it was hard for me to even know who I even wanted, but eventually I found ones I liked and I was happy again. Now that I have amiibo cards I don't really feel bad. I mean I have most of my favorite villagers like Molly, Quinn, Apollo, Raymond, Kitty, Francine, and Cherry and I have their amiibo cards. So I don't feel too bad kicking them out. Amiibo villagers to me are like safety nets for when if there is a random visitor who is "non amiibo" then I have let them kick one of the amiibo villagers out so they don't go after my favorite non amiibo villagers like Bunnie for example. Also I gotten even single villager photo last year so I don't bother with villager hunting too much.

What helped me was having a themed town. I originally was going to have the four octopus already in the game and feature frogs for the rest. I then decided on an all frog town. I then just through those that had more than one of a personality type. I has a plush frog that I adored as a small child and I have a piggy bank that shaped like a frog.

By the way, I think the series needs to have a villager for every personality type. It would help those that one a single species island. There'd be so many new villagers added. We'd get lionesses as either a counterpart villager type like the cows and bulls or a change to the character model like the kangaroos.

I think I struggle too. There’s some I know that will never be leaving ( Nan, Roscoe, Raddle ). Then there are the others who I’m not 100% sure half the time. I keep bringing them to my town, kicking them out, then bringing them back again. I’d hard for me because I care about having them all match. If one of them looks off, then they have to go. Right now I’m not exactly sure who seems off. I thought I had all the villagers I wanted but now I’m not too sure. I also don’t know who I would bring in to replace. I’ve looked at all the villager lists, and although I’m not sure I like some some that are in my island, I don’t think I would like someone else better.

Actually, no. I very easily chose my villagers. I love all of them. I have two wolves and eight dogs. They all follow an orange-brown color scheme. I haven’t been this fond of a group of characters since the Totodile evolution line, lol.

I surprisingly have never had this issue in any AC game. I tend to try not to pick and choose, just take them as they come, and keep them for a very long time. This is mainly because my priority in ACNH isn’t villagers, it’s designing. I’m probably in the minority with this since choosing villagers to go along with your island theme is a big part of designing. I agree with @WaileaNoRei though, that no one should feel bad about cycling through many different villagers. I think the game intended for players to meet and interact with as many villagers as possible. That’s why it’s also so easy to get them back into your island. For me, seeing different villagers on HHP is enough. If I am going to change villagers out I just give them a nice send off to commemorate it, like a photo shoot or something. It just helps me to move on better, hahah.

Yeah for sure, there's so many cutie villagers that I always want to drop one of mine and go villager hunting for another. I don't rlly get bored of my villagers though. I did this with Poncho to move in a random cutie and ended up missing him and adopting him back, so I still get attached I just like having so many villagers live on my island ;-;

I keep changing my mind which villagers I want. I thought once I had my perfect penguin island I would not change my mind. Then I decided I really want to use the Amiibo cards I have. I finally figured out my current cranky will be Frett. Now to figure out my Jock between Drift or Ace. Unless I change my mind again. I don’t think I will ever have a permanent 10 villagers on either of my islands.

Absolutely! I had moved Bree in via amiibo and while she's sweet, I just didn't connect with her. I was playing the DLC and saw Cally on the beach and instantly wanted her so I moved her in via amiibo. We'll see how I 'bond' with her.

When it comes to my current villagers I'm mostly happy. I've had Muffy since the start, she was one of my two starters, and easily one of my favorites, Molly is so sweet, Gladys is one of my first ones and I've come to love her. Gonzo, again is favorite, I like how he is a grumpy old man who is also nice. Bree is cute, and Raymond, when he showed up in the camp ground I spent over almost an hour trying to have him say he would replace the right villager. I'm fond of Margie (its funny because of the name thing) and Francine (I have a joke thing going on with her). I only got Peck so I could get the jock reactions for my main villager (my second villager it doesn't matter as much) so I plan on replacing him next if I get my dreamy. The only one I'm 50/50 on is Colton. I chose him because of his outfit when I first found him, but now I'm not sure, I mean I like his home and everything, but as I have cards from series 5, meaning the new villagers, I'm wondering if I want to replace him with one of those. I'm just worried I will regret it and miss him later.
