Anyone else thinking of redoing their island based on this update?

I'm almost finished with my island, so my goal is to finish before Nov 5. I'll need to find a spot to grow the crops, and I might make a few alterations based on what I know is coming (I definitely need a pizza place!), but I'm not going to start over. I'll need some time to see what new furniture we're getting before I decide on my next theme.

Okay so what I did was in order to prepare for the new crops that we are getting for cooking. I put down place holder designs of the crops in the garden so then by the time when the update comes out I will be able to plant them in place of where I put down the designs.

I'm one of those people who dont need to restart or redo anything of my island. I restarted back in July/August. I have a lot of open space that is unused, that I had no idea what to do with, so this update has felt just perfect for me

yess - the ability to customize a school at the resort destroyed my entire school yard area on my island and now i have to tear it down and move stuff around lmao. also, if we're allowed to move villagers permanently to the archipelago then i'll probably want to change layouts based on who i move out and who i move in.

I don’t think I will drastically revamp my island for the update, but I certainly might tinker with villager interiors when that unlocks. I thought about what I would do tonight while playing. I wish we knew more about how the vacation villagers worked, as I would like to move out some of home island villagers to the HHD archipelago to make room for new villagers.

i feel you. i kinda lost interest and haven't played regularly in months. my island was never really complete in terms of decorating and construction, but i feel like i'm ready to start anew and look at new ideas now. it's stressful to restart though now that many people have completed their islands. i'm overwhelmed by so many beautiful islands. however, i'm tired of my map and my island is overrun with flowers in certain areas that i'm too lazy to dig up. i also got a bit too attached to some villagers whom i can't let go and i'm ready for some new faces
on the other hand, i don't want to search for diy recipes and catalog again
i also have to keep in mind that i don't have nearly as much time as i had during quarantine/last year :/

Thankfully, I only got ACNH a few months ago, and... really haven't done all that much with my island yet. So there's not really enough going on that I'd have to redo anything, but the update has definitely given me some ideas for areas I would like to make! My mom and aunt have done a lot more with their islands, though, and I know they're both thinking about some massive overhauls, though I don't think either are planning on resetting altogether. Although you never know with my aunt.

I never actually finished my island, so I'm definitely motivated to tear down whatever I have right now to make room for new ideas come the update. Especially with now being able to use up to 10 ramps instead of the 8.

I have already taken this into consideration, that's why I have a lot of empty spaces on my island. With 2 additional inclines, I can finally do what I had envisioned since last year.

Also, with the massive amount of returning and new items, there will be major decorating and landscaping sessions in the next few months. But before that, I would need to unlock most of the stuff from the DLC first.

I'm really excited to work on my island again.

Not gonna lie this update kinda has me stressed out - I haven’t played much lately and I feel like I need to redo a bunch of my island now to make room for new items/etc. Is anyone else planning on doing an overhaul for this update? Or feel anxiety about making big changes?? Please tell me I’m not the only one lol

I am feeling exactly like that; considering resetting too. I don’t think I will reset but yeah, I haven’t touched the game in so long and now when I come back with so much stuff to do, I am definitely going to be overwhelmed. I think what I am going to do is check out the new stuff that interests me the most, and decide from there what to focus on and redo if needed. Then again, this doesn’t really narrow anything down since I’m pretty much excited about everything.

i feel like i want to redesign my whole island but it seems so daunting to be honest. i have a little bit of anxiety over it since i feel inspired to try new things with all of the new content. i just feel like i would really regret losing my current island even though i have mixed feelings about it.

last time i flattened a portion of my island i felt so much stress in trying to think of how to terraform. i worry that if i flattened my island i would be too overwhelmed to ever develop it and would feel sad i lost my current one. at the same time i dont want to reset and lose all of my criterpedia, catalogue, museum donations, and villagers. i do miss island hopping, but i really love all of my current villagers. i dont know what to do haha. its a good thing i have a few weeks to consider it

I am too. But I don’t know if I wanna start from scratch or just re certain areas. It’s just so much work to restart from scratch. You gotta put everything in storage, do something with all your hybrid flowers at least, move building and move buildings again, and sometimes again to make slacking perfect. Stresses me out too but I’m so excited for the new updates

I have some areas that will be definitely updated. Some houses too. I have a hospital right now, that could use some new items. A school as well. I also am going to have to create a farming area. Right now I have a pumpkin patch, but I don’t see myself changing this area. I’m going to have to create a whole new one.

I love the update but I also love my island which was pretty much done, besides a room or small area or two. So now I'm gonna have to come up with lots of new idea's that wont fit the island anymore, meaning yeah I'm gonna have to redo to some if not most area's to feature all the new items to make scenes look perfect.
But in order to do that ill have to say goodbye to some areas which will be difficult, I don't have any idea yet how im gonna do that...
Ill guess ill take it step by step once the update drops!

I also feel a little stressed about it lol, im to much of a control freak and perfectionist for this kind of major changes, but im excited also! Hopefully by the time the updates here ill be able to see things more clearly and organise some ideas. Just have to remind myself to keep gameplay casual, its not a race
