Anyone else worried?

Possible that you can move from the island back to a small city?? https://youtu.be/2gv0F3Pr8u4

He says: I've got to make sure everyone has a nice new place to come HOME TO when they are ready

I AM SURE THEYLL BE TUCKERED OUT AFTER ALL THAT CAMPING AND SMASHING AND WHATNOT

So maybe there is more to it than just this tiny island??

It's a mainline game, this has been said by the developers.

Except it's a deserted island. It looks like "go to island. Build it from scratch". This is honestly going to probably be one of the best games.
Well, I did say over the past months I said we'd be getting a game where we'd build everything from the ground up.

I wonder how LambdaDelta thinks about the concept of the game now?

There has to be a shop to buy things, or at least a way to build shops. There really isn't many other ways to get clothing without the Able sisters, I'm honestly excited that these shops might have a tropical look to them

I think the only thing I'm worried at the back of my mind about is that there isn't enough game content to support a similar level of engagement (hours of play) as ACNL did for me.

If I do feel that ACNH will capture my attention for as long as or longer than ACNL, then we will be getting another Switch in our household. The Switch is one of our most-played consoles in the house, so it probably won't go over well for one person (me) to hog it for hundreds of hours over multiple months. XD

Given that it's a mainline game, I think we'll be getting another Switch, and a 2020 release date helps plan out that expense.

I'm only worried about the map size per the Treehouse footage. The rest looks awesome.

I agree, however I really think that it will change a lot by the time it is released

Same ! I saw the map and am hoping maybe it's like a zoomed in version of the whole just to show your current area or something?

I think people are being too harsh with the small tidbit we were given. I'm not fond of the pocket camp art style or the HHD type furniture outdoor but I know once I actually get the game in my hands I'm gonna be obsessed with it all (probably lmao)

Hey look Nooklings Shop.

Also has flimsy tools, medicine, flowers, and saplings.

The map makes it look like it is no more of an island than your NL town is. It?s bordered by cliffs at the top and has beaches on the other sides. Ot basically just has one extra side of beach.

I really enjoy the new art style. It doesn't feel too out of the way.
I felt sorta worried at first, but wont judge much until we are able to see more.

Nope. The producer said in the Treehouse segment that instead of being dropped into a pre-built city, this time around you are dropped on a deserted island and you have to build your village from scratch. Sorry to shoot down your hopes.

I?m worried they won?t tone down the overly done hair highlights, and I?m worried there won?t be clovers like in NL!!

Aw well fair enough, I hope the map is much larger than what ive seen thus far eh it looks so smalllll

I'm worried that there wont be a traditional furniture store or clothing store, and that they took out the museum. I'm worried that the island is going to be just as big as New Leaf and not bigger or expandable :( There are so many game menus that it kind of takes the immersion out of it. I don't like that the transportation is just a modern plane (from the sounds of it). Maybe it's an old school plane.. I'd prefer that.

I?m mainly worried about the crafting feature. I hate grinding for materials (i.e. stone/wood) in games. It always feels super frustrating to me, and the opposite of the relaxing feel that Animal Crossing has always had. Sure, you had to grind for bells, but imo it was never frustrating, since you have a variety of ways to do that. But- they may well have already thought of what I?m concerned about, and made it so that material requirements are never crazy high. We shall see.

You can see a tiny bit of the plane in the treehouse gameplay (23.50) and it looks like it's probably a pretty small old-school plane.

Yeah. Though they didn?t even end up showing us much in the Treehouse segment which is to be expected.

They?re really emphasising the ?islander? thing. I hope the game isn?t strictly limited to just that.

I hope your able to create a ?town? out of the island.
Hoping that Tom & Timmy?s tent can eventually be upgraded to a store. It?d ruin the experience for me if we were only able to live in tents while the rest of the ?islanders? we build houses for.

I?m guessing progress will be a lot slower in this game due to the crafting element. Especially earlier on. But they did say they?re implementing a lot into the game even still so that we have years and years worth of playtime.

Great point. I?ll have to keep this in mind.

I'm mostly worried about the map size and where the shops are? Like how we get our clothes/accessories? What about K.K.? There's a lot of shops in New Leaf with the shops and the things like the dream suite plus Club LOL so I'm curious what they're gonna do to incorporate all those factors.
I'm not too worried about it all right now because it's still in development but I am still concerned about the map size.

Not adding the encyclopaedia and the museum would be crazy to me.

where is Isabelle

edit: Isabelle aside, Im not crazy about the art style. but, it also has a long way to go. NL looked weird originally too. I have very high hopes <3
