Anyone had a chance to give nicknames yet?

Or a greeting or catchphrase? I’ve been playing since release and haven’t gotten a chance to do any of them yet. It seems unlikely that they’d remove them but I’m still paranoid about certain features disappearing. I haven’t seen a villager shake a tree or gotten an offer for hide and seek either.

I’m so glad to see somebody else report that experience; I haven’t gotten a single one after 12 days of playing! Was starting to wonder if it was even still in the game.

Maybe my Islanders are just too happy and organized to want or lose things haha

The other day Sprocket started calling me champ and then it spread to all my other villagers I haven't played hide and seek if that even exists but I've played find the buried treasure with a few villagers. This morning Pietro told me he lost his book and I returned it to him. I'm glad I didn't have to ask half of my villagers before figuring out it was his like in New Leaf haha.

I got a nickname request yesterday or the day before, but Ursula wanted to call me something stupid so I rejected it. The next day she pinged me again with the same nickname suggestion but this time let me choose my own. Ursula was one of my starters so I'm closest to her so maybe that's what prompted it. Although I've also done delivery requests for Erik even though I don't talk to him as much as my other villagers because he lives far away from town hall.

I've gotten some nicknames, lots of tasks (if you talk to them a couple times in a row and not just one they sometimes will give you one) and two treasure hunts. The second treasure hunt I did was H A R D.

Interestingly, I had Flo ping me to give me a nickname but before that when I talked to her earlier in the morning, I had a nook miles ping afterwards and it was for making better relationships with friends.

But I still haven't been able to change their catchphrases or to choose a nickname.

as for Nicknames, no, but I am glad, because I always l them to call me my IGN, because my Character has a name, and I'd appreciate it being used.

As far as catchphrases and greetings go, I have not seen these yet, but do hope they return.

Yes, I've been given a nickname. "Mountain" by Sprocket, lmao. Canberra and Boomer are also calling me it. Makes me laugh.
