Anyone here who doesn't use social media? (Or not often)

I barely use it nowadays. If I do, it will just be my Twitter.
Pinterest is another story. I wish others would stop reposting art...especially if the artist stated not to repost.
I got locked off my Tumblr. I have made another account but rarely use it.
And for Facebook, I never use it.
I recently gain access back on my Tumblr account and since deleted that newer one. It's pretty much the only one I use now. I have a Facebook account, but like I said above I never use it. I actually made that account back in the late 2000s /early 2010s to get free gold for my Gaiaonline account (it wasn't even much and I don't use that site anymore too lol). Sadly, some of my relatives and people who I went to school with magically found the account one day and now I can't get rid of the dumb thing.

I also had an Instagram account, but I recently deleted it and as for Twitter, I don't post much on there anymore and just mostly use it to look at what Nintendo and any other company I follow posts.

I have a Discord too, but I never use it. Might send it away too.

I don't use it often but I used to use it all the time. I made insta and snap somewhat recently but don't use it often anymore. Probably for the best since I'm going through a low point of my mental health atm 🫠

i;ve begun to completely cut social media off from my life. i find that i get far too annoyed and upset after using it because i hate encountering terrible people.
the only social media networks that i use now are pinterest, reddit (although i hate using it) and youtube. everything else i barely go on or don't have an account on all.

Don't care to use it. There are a few forums like here that I frequent, occasionally discord, and a small group on Twitter that I only ever talk to them through a message group. I don't follow anything on Twitter and if it wasn't for them I wouldn't even bother going to the place. I originally joined Tumblr and Twitter for a friend group that I don't talk to anymore. I was close with them, but they changed and even though it sucks to have them out of my life it was better for my mental health.

I find social media kind of stupid anyway. I would rather get to know members on a personal level and bond with a community. With social media it feels like you're talking at others not with them.

Social media is simply a platform to spread negativity behind a safeguard that is your electronic screen. I semi-quit Twitter when I graduated high school in 2018, and fully quit it in 2020. The major reason I did that was because of what was going on in the world that made people post stuff that made me feel very uneasy. I haven't logged into that account since. I also semi-quit Instagram just before then, though I still go on it every now and then to post stuff and leave. Snapchat was a gradual downfall. I used it quite often past graduation, but once my friends started ignoring me one-by-one and and got to the point where no one was responding to anything I've sent, I decided to log out of my account at the beginning of this year and haven't used it since. I've never even thought about creating a Facebook account for reasons many of you would understand.

TikTok is a whole different story, and thank goodness the US government caught on to the stupidity being showcased on that app. No wholesome ads they air on TV are going to cover up the fact that they have little quality control over what their users post on a daily basis. Heck, the other day, I saw someone share a picture of one of their mobile ads that showed a guy in a hospital with half their face gone. The caption? It went something along the lines of "TikTok is the place to laugh". Not kidding. I'm not going to laugh at someone else's misery while someone else makes click bucks. That is incredibly cruel and wrong. No wonder it was announced that their parent company will be banned from maintaining the app in September, but I'd imagine there's going to be yet another company dumb enough to make an alternative. TikTok basically spawned right after Vine closed down, and this cycle is simply going to continue as people become numb from not being able to watch their stupid videos.

Also, this doesn't really count as social media per se, but I've made several accounts on dating apps with no success at being able to meet anyone genuine. I really don't know what I'm doing wrong as I try to come off as a good guy, but it's incredibly hard to find a real person on these apps without handing over money regardless. I've made that mistake several times, and thankfully, haven't paid for any premium services in over a year. I haven't even "swiped" on anyone since the beginning of the year either. Yes, my social life outside of the internet continues to go down the tubes, but if I feel happy just from being by myself, then that's all that matters to me.

Ayyyy I'm glad I'm not alone on this one. I began phasing out social media accounts one after another over time. Lost some online friends, too, but it had to be done.

I recently created a FB again for work purposes. I can't work efficiently without one. It's freaky how much it influences our jobs and peoples' lives, and so forth.

I’m pretty sure I posted here, but eh-

I never had a Facebook, I never had a Twitter I didn’t just get locked out of (because I refused to enter a phone number). Reddit… has always been hit-or-miss, but it’s getting worse, especially as more AI generated posts infest the platform. I deleted my account there with the API changes.

I tried tumblr and it made me feel more isolated so I wound up deleting that account, I just saw myself logging in once a month at most to see art, which wasn’t fulfilling.

I just like forums better. They really encourage an organic interaction, the way hanging around people at school used to. I also use Discord and it’s easier to light a fire under me to talk with people there but it’s really an ongoing problem that I’ve been socially avoidant because I feel bad about myself. This is the only forum I got tho.

Love you gs as always

I only use YouTube, Twitter and Tumblr, and I barely ever use Reddit. Otherwise, social media is a no for me.

I use Twitter to repost fanart and follow Japanese artists, and I use Tumblr to reblog mostly Animal Crossing fanart.
I use YouTube to save favorite songs, soundtracks, and videos in general in playlists.

My mom recently got her Facebook account back, but every time I get a glimpse of her account while trying to open another tab, I just see mostly nothing but images of injured animals on her feed...

I don't use Facebook, Pinterest, and Discord anymore.

I hate TikTok, and I will never use it, because I heard they used to encourage dangerous and deadly challenges, like the Tide pod challenge, for example...it's probably best if you've never heard of that one.

I tried to use Instagram, but I absolutely hate entering phone numbers, so I opted out of that one.
