Anyone here who suffers from the drifting joy-con issue?

I haven't used my Switch much, but I did notice a bit of controller lag when playing Super Mario Odyssey. Ended up causing a few near-deaths, since you can't afford to have imprecise timing while platforming. Those joycons are the first Nintendo controller I've used that has any noticeable lag. Not sure if I've experienced any drift though.

I remember something similar to this drift issue was a huge problem with Wii nunchuks and having to replace them every few months. The difference here is that while nunchuks were relatively cheap, joycons are not.

I'll buy a switch when/if nintendo permanently fixes the problem and releases are 100% working console.

It's too expensive with the current 'disposable' joy cons.

I can't believe they aren't fixing it.

In the U.S., the joy-cons are being serviced for free. Probably due to a class action lawsuit happening. Even past the warranty.

I read about that.

I think they are charging $100 in Australia.

Even if it was free, people can't keep sending away their joy cons. Nintendo has to fix the issue permanently.

Here’s an update on my second pair of joycon. In-game doesn’t drift (yet... or only ever so slightly) but every I time go to the home screen the select drifts like crazy and jumps between buttons/icons. Makes it impossible for me to add FCs with ease or browse through my photo albums. :’( My friend is getting a switch lite soon so I really hope this kinda stuff doesn’t happen on the handheld.

Yep. My first Switch I got last Christmas from my brother had the issue. I had to buy a pair of new joy cons in order for it to work. The new joy cons are fine though. No issues. I'm hoping my mom buys me the pink and neon green ones for Christmas this year, so hopefully those won't have any issues, but so far any new controllers I buy doesn't have it. Weird. :/

i have it on one of my joycons and on my wired controller, which is a pain. Luckily my wired controller barley drifts so its not to bad, but my blue joycon is hell. I am intending to get new controllers during boxing day sales so i hoppefully wont have the drift when new horrizons comes out. I want to play in peaceee.

What's this about a lawsuit that will let you get your joycon replaced/fixed even if it's out of warranty? If I can get my joycon fixed for free, I'd love to know how to make that happen!

EDIT: If I'm understanding correctly, on Nintendo's website, there's a place to ask for Joycon repairs, and you can just send them in, nothing about the warranty, nothing about cost. So it's just standard practice now to fix them because so many were faulty. I think.

Also I didn't realize how old this thread was. Sorry if bumping it was a problem. ^o^;>

Happened to my left Joy-Con back in December, sent it in for repair and just waiting to get it back... had to get a new pair, though I was considering getting some other colors anyway
