Are you expecting the Switch game to be a big step up from New Leaf?

Graphically, I hope it's at least noticeably better than Pocket Camp.

In terms of gameplay though, I hope there's a lot more to do.
Because Animal Crossing games have stayed very much the same for a long time. Sure, I guess a lot of fans love that and I do too but it'd be good if they could implement more in general this time around. Especially because it's the first "home" console game in a while.

A lot of people have said they'd like the option to be able to work different jobs instead of just being the mayor or a villager.

Receiving different items depending on how well you perform your job would be cool. The badge system would tie-in with that aspect too. Cooking and serving customers at a restaurant would be fun. But maybe that's a little too much? I wouldn't be surprised if they have a chef character in the Switch game.

Some people have even mentioned being able to control vehicles. I'd think that'd be a little bit tacky and would take away the charm of just walking around and exploring.

Overall, I guess like most people, I find myself having very little to do in the one day. That's why, sometimes, you gotta resort to TT.

Yes because it took long enough for them to make a new game.

No but seriously, I expect all the new furniture from Pocket Camp to make a return in the full game and some new mechanics. Please stop it with the control a vehicle or we want a shopping centre and a school and all these urban things NO. I just want my good old Animal Crossing with better graphics and better dialogue.

Honestly, I've said this before to others but I would have been happy with New Leaf being ported/remade for Switch. I'd just be happy with gameplay similar to New Leaf, but enhanced. And better graphics.

I would like to hope so, but I have my worries about it being somewhat same-ish since New Leaf was so well received. It is hard to get an idea of it since we know basically nothing about the game at this point other than it is a new mainline title and having a possible (?) connection to Pocket Camp. Hopefully we will see some game-play or concepts soon to know!

Yeah. I've always had the mind set of "If it's not broken, don't fix it. Expand on it and make it better." when it comes to games. Why do you think Pokemon has done so well as a game series? Animal Crossing has done this pretty well on top of this.

I'm certain the new AC title will be just as good as New Leaf, if not better. I just pray it doesn't get delayed.

All I want is that they just gonna put all the good stuff from New Leaf, Happy Home
Designer and Pocket Camp into the new game. And what I mean with the good stuff
is all the features and new items which got released in both HHD and PC at this point.
Plus some new features and new items which are show up for the very first time in the
game.

I mean, I'm not sure how high the chances are that they gonna pull a Super Smash Bros
and bring out the ultimate Animal Crossing game a l? "Everyone and everything is here!"
= all the villagers, items and such from past AC games. But yeah...

Long story short: I do hope that the Switch game is kinda a big step up from New Leaf.
After all, they do try to bring new stuff and features in every new main game so that it's
better then the previous game. So I guess (or more like hope) they gonna do the same
here too.

The new game absolutely needs to be a complete and total upgrade (like going from CF to NL) in my view given how long it has been. I do agree that a New Leaf+ sort of release could have been good at the right time, but only if it had released 2 years ago near the Switch launch. (say if the Welcome Amiibo update was evolved into a full HD Switch upgrade) After taking this long I would find it supremely disappointing if we ended up with another Wild World --> City Folk style game.

Honestly, this is why I'm so worried about ACS, I don't want it to become another WW to CF Port...

(snipped to get to what point I was talking about)

I would say that on the plus side it'd save me from having to get a switch sooner, but pokemon gen8 is already gonna be a thing, so....

I'm really expecting a major upgrade and I hope it delivers. <3

Yes, we've been waiting too long, and we've had to suffer endure multiple mediocre Animal Crossing spinoffs in the meantime. :p If there was going to be a New Leaf Deluxe, it should have arrived on Wii U in 2015/16.

honestly they took so long it should be a massive upgrade but i also love new leaf so much i wouldnt be mad if they used a lot of stuff from it. mainly i want better graphics, even pocket camp looks better now..
also i want all the stuff they added in pocket camp because it would be such a waste. all the stuff is so cute!
i just hope they dont cut any npc because that would make me sad tbh

I'm hoping it's a big step. A lot of the new installments for major franchises on the switch have brought something new to the table. So I'm hoping that it'll be the same for Animal Crossing. More villagers, more furniture, more customization options, etc. I'll be a little disappointed if it isn't a lot larger than ACNL, but I'll still love it all the same.

Honestly since the game is being upgraded from the 3ds to the switch Nintendo has a lot more to work with, and can make an overall larger game in terms of content, i wouldnt be surprised if we just got more of everything; fish, bugs, diving, I'd like to see a return of the Flea Market Day (Where you went around houses and buy peoples stuff)
My favorite stuff to add would be
1)jobs (I'd like to be able to do more having a consistent job that gets you items or bells would be really fun in my opinion)
2) I'd like to see more night time activities during the night its pretty dry and theres not much to do so having more there would be nice to see
3) Bigger Town Map (I always want more room for more trees, and flowers, and possibly more villagers)
4) If we cant get a bigger town then i'd want more outside areas to explore that are seperate from the town IE: Mainstreet, Tortimer Island, more stuff like that
5) Finally the last thing i'd like to see is more town overall customization / functional Public Works Projects, having more things to build in town and them having functions would be really neat and something i'd very much like to see

I expect nothing less of Nintendo to make the Switch version a big step up from NL and all their other previous games. The console has more power than the 3DS, graphics are better, and with how long they are dragging out the game, I will be quite disappointed if it isn't better in every possible way, along with new features, animals, holidays ect...

Absolutely, knowing how everyone is anticipating the game this year I think Nintendo will want to make AC Switch HUGE. It's going to be the best installment of the franchise so I think they'll be adding a lot of new features, or at least totally upgrade the graphical design. If you think about the AC track on MK8, it could even be as big of an improvement as that. I'm just excited to see the new game.

Visually, sure, big upgrade. The Switch should be able to push 1080p 60fps with lovely lighting and all sorts for an Animal Crossing game.

But in terms of actual gameplay? I don't know. I expect it will follow the Animal Crossing formula and basically be New Leaf but with more items, villagers, features and so on. Nintendo knows that another old mainline game will sell millions of copies if they stick to what they know works. If they changed the more fundamental aspects of the game, that would be risky.

I really hope it's different to New Leaf but the game sometimes gets boring don't get me wrong i love New Leaf. In my opinion it could have much more things to do Multiplayer wise since it isn't on a DS and will be on an in home console, I really hope there will be plenty of other things to do like more Mini Games etc because once you do your Daily things on New Leaf there isn't much else to do and it becomes quite boring quite quickly, You can only go to the Island so many times before getting bored of it.

I'm definitely hoping it will be way different from New Leaf with a bunch of new features. We've been waiting so long, it will be kind of disappointing if it's like City Folk 2.0 (by which I mean City Folk barely added anything new from Wild World, not that I think Nintendo is going to remake City Folk for switch)

I loved New Leaf, but I'm really hoping it will be a much better game than it was, but looking at the teaser trailer, I know it's going to be a great one. I'll still play the game even if it isn't, but like I said, I think it will be just fine. ;)
