for me, depends what the situation is.

for the most part I like to engage head-on just because I hate drama and conflict and want things resolved as soon as possible.

but every once in awhile I will avoid it and that is if it mostly doesn't involve me and I don't have much business engaging head-on, or if I'm extremely nervous about a situation and thinking about how others may react I will avoid for sure and hide for like 500 years.

what about you all?

I almost always engage it head-on because I know I’m strong enough to deal with it no matter what type of interaction it is. And I never really care what the other side or sides have to say about me because I’ve already been through a lot of conflict in my life and therefore their opinions mean nothing to me. I also don’t like drama or conflict and I like helping others out, so maybe that’s why as well.

interesting question.

i will only ever get involved in conflict in order to protect other people when i know without a doubt that they are in need of defense.

i rarely get angry or start conflict myself, there are times when i definitely should be angry and should be involved and then there are times when i feel like conflict should be started but my brain won't let me because I despise disturbing peace/balance.

i can be very assertive and very passive but not really submissive.

and then there's the fact that i have a nice reputation irl, so it would be weird for me to be involved in strong conflict - some people know not to start **** with me because i will finish it - my entire family is like that.

My temper always gets the best of me. Always. I’ve never had enough sense to even consider avoiding conflict. I live in fear of a video of me going off on someone going viral. Seriously. I once went crazy on a man in a Petsmart parking lot because he didn’t put his cart away... long story short, it BOUNCED off the back of my brand new car... But it didn’t even leave a scratch except I didn’t know that until I’d embarrassed myself and frightened him to death. Sucks to be like this, wish I had better coping skills. Anyway, I hope the lazy loser started putting his carts away after that.

I'm basically a coward so I avoid conflict at all costs. I'd rather admit the other person is right than argue.

It can really depend on the sitation, like if it involves me I'll most likely engage it head on. I don't want to take **** from anyone and I don't like drama either so I would prefer to deal with situations in a civilised manner. As for avoiding, I only avoid if its just a load of nonsense and just stay in my lane.

I avoid conflict as much as possible. I'm more of the peace-keeper. If I have to be involved, I'll always try to find a compromise and satisfy all parties.

It really depends on the situation. I don’t like confronting coworkers or rude customers (I work in retail so we get a lot of those lol) because any type of drama at work makes me anxious, as well as making me feel unprofessional even if the source of conflict isn’t my fault.

I can face conflict with my boyfriend, immediate family members, and close friends head-on because I know that afterwards we’ll almost always be able to forgive and forget and hopefully one of us will learn something from it.

i have a knack for getting what i want, and generally i always win, so no worries. but not because i don't like drama, more because i'm always right

I generally avoid conflict for lesser issues, but if it's something major in my life I'm going to face it head on.

Confrontation is something that can trigger the anxiety/GAD within so I usually tread carefully. But at the same time, avoidance of confrontation just because it may turn into conflict can yield even more anxiety for me. So I think it depends as well for me.

I have to say though---when I gather up the courage and my reason(s) for confrontation, I go at it full speed ahead lol. I do try to keep myself levelheaded for the most part in confrontational situations. Part of "adulting" has made me accept the terms of "closed mouths don't get fed" but simultaneously "pick and choose your battles wisely."

Now it depends, I learned in some cases it was no use to engage and lose time over some conflict.

Most of the time you can tell right away if it's worth debating.
If not, I'll put a word in, then that'll usually be it. Most conflict just isn't worth the time.

I tend to avoid it because I am extremely powerful and want to only destroy others responsibly

@Zane Lol nice

Depends. I'm a quiet person who doesn't really argue with people outside my family. I don't get involved in drama, and if someone says somethin about me, I think I'd rather not hear it. Unfortunately I'm a little sensitive, and rude comments might go to my head and make me think worse of myself. However, I have a slick sarcastic mouth when I get mad and verbally show that I am mad. This can get me in trouble in which confrontation is unavoidable.

Avoid avoid avoid avoid avoid
I literally physically ran away when one of my confrontational classmates asked for my opinion about something in high school once and I haven't changed

Engage. Even if I don't feel like it. It's not really nice, but it has to be done. It's like a rock in the shoe. What am I gonna do? Try and forget it by toughing it out and hoping I get used to it? No way. I stop and seek to resolve the situation.
