There's two types of dog people. Big dog people (Labrador, Shepherd, Husky) and small dog people (Chihuahua, Dachshund, Corgi). I'm the latter, a dachshund person specifically, but I'd also like a chihuahua too.

i love both equally, but i’m more used to and comfortable with cats since they’re the only pets i’ve ever had. there’s always been at least one cat in my home at all times my entire life (my mom’s a big cat person), so i’m not sure what it’s like to be without them. the longest i’ve gone without having a cat under my roof is a month and 4 days. they’re such precious little creatures, and i truly can’t imagine life without them. no matter where i am, my home will never feel complete without one. this is my 15 month old girl, bonk. 🖤

i’ve never had a dog, though my family and i did consider adopting one after my late kitty passed, just for a change. dogs are such lovely babies, and are so sweet and adorable, but they’re a lot more work than cats, and more expensive. plus i live in an apartment, so i wouldn’t be able to give a dog as much space as they deserve. i know smaller dogs can be okay in apartments, but i don’t think i’d ever adopt a dog unless i lived in a house and was able to give them a yard for them to play and roam around in. i wouldn’t feel right having a dog in an apartment, even a small one.

I like both, but I'm significantly more comfortable around cats having grown up in a house with three of them.

My partner wants us to get a large dog in future. I've insisted that if we are going to get one then it needs to be a puppy rather than adopting an older dog because I know I'm going to have a hard time adjusting to living with one. I stay in a house with a small dog half the week, and I'm okay with her because she's a quiet little thing who keeps to herself unless I'm cooking with meat (her owner is vegan) or the doorbell goes, but on the other hand I had my mate's German Shepherd wake me up by pouncing on me yesterday morning to lick my face and I completely froze. 😬

I can’t stress this enough. I also grew up with cats and did not have a large dog. My husband wanted a Golden Retriever, and we recently got one as a puppy. He’s 6 months old now, and is a huge, uncoordinated klutz. I’m still not used to him and his largeness. That being said, he is adorable and I know he’ll grow out of it.

I am gonna be honest...I am not a fan of either. There are just a lot of things where I lack patience. Dogs and cats are two examples. Especially hyper dogs and cats that scratch.

That makes sense. Just keep in mind that puppies require a lot of training and can destroy a lot of things while they're still learning. Breed is important too as you'd probably do better with a calm, lazy dog versus a hyper, energetic one.

I adore cats. In the animal kingdom, I would say cats have pretty privilege. I find their eyes absolutely alluring. However, they are not the best fit for my lifestyle. I'm a huge dog person because I like how friendly most of them are. I also enjoy doing outdoor activities, such as hiking, biking, kayaking, and camping. A lot of dogs are up for my kind of adventures. Even if I deal with the lazier dog breeds, they are still fun to cuddle and watch movies with! They can be quite silly too. The best part about cats though is that they are less high-maintenance, more independent, and much cleaner. In short, they both make terrific pets. It just depends on your personality and who you mesh better with.

I’m more of a dog person. My experience is the complete opposite site. Though I like both, I find dogs to be more cuddly. The cats tend to mind their own business and don’t like me bothering them too much. My dog is always by my side though always seeking me.

I freaking love dogs 🐶💕 I've grown up with them, so I guess I'm a bit biased. Dogs have so much personality and each of them are so different in their own way. I love how friendly most dogs are. And puppies...they are gorgeous.

I haven't spent much time with cats, but they've definitely grown on me over the years. Cats are pretty cool too.

The only cats that I’ve ever seen were stray cats, so I don’t have much of an opinion on them. I do think that they are cute though.

Several of my family members have dogs and I had a german sheperd when I was younger. The dogs had different temperaments, but most were positive interactions. If I ever become financially ready to get a pet, then I will get a dog.

I’m most definitely a cat person. I’ve had a cat since I was a child and I enjoy their company whereas I’ve never had a dog and my only interactions with them have made me uncomfortable tbh.

Good to see cats at their rightful place as rulers of the internet :)

How could I choose? I love both so much. Animals are simply the best 🤍🐰

I am a dog person, but the little kitties are cute.

I'm a dog person, but I have come around to cats recently, ever since I started living with them.
