Someone in my household just asked me why I haven't plugged my dock into the TV given that I've been using my Switch so much lately. I don't actually have any urge to play it on a big screen. I'm even considering moving to a Switch Lite eventually given that I rarely use the dock and still have the older model with bad battery life. I charged it three times one day last week.
Do you prefer to play AC:NH docked or handheld?
Please post to specify whether you use a regular Switch or a Switch Lite.
Both, in the day i do it docked and then towards bed i play it in bed. And in weekdays when im working i sometimes put it tabletop mode on my desk and leave a dodo code for everyone. Is tabletop an option? It's technically undocked but not technically handheld? (haha just being pedantic)
I have a regular switch, but I play 80% handheld. partially because I don't have my own tv and don't want people spectate me playing it in the lounge but also partially because I enjoy playing in the comfort of my bedroom
the game looks so damn pretty in docked mode though, definitely want to play docked more often
I like playing on the TV, but we only have one and my partner has a mac mini, and he uses the TV as his screen, so I end up playing handheld most of the time.
I play on a Switch Lite. After playing so much New Leaf on the 3DS I got used to the game being handheld.I just received a new regular Switch and I'm going to hook that up to a television so I can play with a big screen.
I use the animal crossing switch and I've found I play handheld VERY rarely. I think part of this is to preserve the switch itself as it's the most beautiful thing I've seen in the entire world.
I also just love the graphics on a TV, I think it's so wasted otherwise. I only ever use it handheld if I want to play it in bed late at night (not very often), or I want to use the touchscreen for chat or the bulletin board. With the coronavirus I haven't needed to go anywhere and haven't had the chance to take it to any friends' houses.
I almost considered replacing my switch for a switch lite with how little I played docked, now I almost exclusively play in docked mode for New Horizons! It's just uncomfortable for me to play in mobile mode and the battery drains fast, and playing it with the charger plugged into the bottom is the worst. Its been extremely enjoyable playing on the TV!!
It also helps that the text is large and a lot of stuff is visible from a distance, small text and such would usually be the main reason I play in handheld so I can see it better
I have played it handheld when I don't have access to a TV, but I mostly play it docked (and I prefer it docked). I don't like playing Switch games undocked period.
Before getting the game, I was certain that I would be playing it in handheld mode since it's usually my preferred method of playing.
But to my surprised, I've been playing it mostly in docked mode since it's so easy to connect, and it's much more comfortable holding the Pro Controller rather than Switch's gamepads for long hours. Oddly enough, I've only used handheld mode in the mornings after waking up to run around town checking for new villagers/visitors before connecting it to the dock again.
