I bought a Switch Lite after only playing my regular Switch in handheld mode. My boyfriend uses that one now and I play AC:NH handheld on my Lite and love it.
I mostly play it handheld, because I don't have my own TV and my roommates are always near, so it's nice to be able to take the game with me around the house if I want to be on my own.
However, I love playing the game docked, so I think I'll be trying that out some more in the future.
I do both. For me Animal Crossing has always felt best in handheld so I'm leaning towards that atm, but looking at the new graphics on my tv is too much sometimes
I switch back and forth all the time. Sometimes I'll be comfortable on our couch and playing on the TV, or sometimes I'll be elsewhere and playing in handheld mode. I really really appreciate the switch for having this flexability. I love that option and hope that other systems will take the same idea
I have the regular switch and as such I mostly play NH docked; there's something really nostalgic about being able to play Animal Crossing on my tv again. Really takes me back to the GameCube days. However, I do enjoy playing it in handheld mode, and will sometimes snatch up my switch if I'm busy or if I just wanna chill somewhere and play NH. Having the option to do both is great.
I own the Limited Edition Amimal Crossing New Horizons Switch and on my first day of owning it I was told by those wiser than me to get a silicon case for it, to protect the design on the backside of the switch. Apparently the oils from your habds can rub it off, which leads to me playing docked most of the time. Along with the fact that I prefer the game docked rather than handheld. Its just very uncomfortable and clunky when I hold it. But the controllers on their own is perfect. Living with only my husband, who is out most of the time due to work, means I also have no one to compete with for using the tv. As we only have 1.
I’ve only played handheld, but I’ve watched my boyfriend play docked. It strains my eyes having it on the big screen so I prefer to play it on the console c:
I've actually been playing mostly in Tabletop mode since I often play while sitting at my desk watching TV. I suppose you could say this is handheld mode.
I go back and forth between both. I love how the pro controller feels and being able to play Animal Crossing in fullscreen and HD, but sometimes I prefer the convenience of handheld.
I do both. I love how nice it all looks on the big screen, but sometimes I also like watching stuff on tv, while playing. So I switch it up on and off.
