That sounds so delicious :')...... I've never had Kerrygold cheeses, but I've heard they are delicious.
If memory serves, Kerrygold is a government-owned cheese maker and distributor in Ireland. Yes, I very much like the quality of their cheese, though my favorite has got to be the unpasteurized white cheddar sold at Trader Joe's. It is hard to find unpasteurized cheese, probably in part since potential buyers are scared away from the mistaken belief that it is dangerous.
Oh, also, I like to use Kerrygold aged cheddar with sourdough, unsalted butter, vinegar chips, and tomatoes, for an off-the-grill snack.
I love pastas that have a tomato-based sauce. I don't fancy the creamy, cheesy ones too much.
Yes, even though I am big on cheeses, I much prefer to use them only sparingly in pasta, if at all.
The Filipino side of my family does not care for cheese at all, and getting cheese in the Philippines was not exactly a matter of walking to any old seller down the road, at least in the part of Bacolod I was in. However, the Irish and Americans seem big on cheese.
Now that we're on food ... What would your top 5 cuisines be? Heheh, sorry if this has been asked before
You know how some people are big on music but go blank if you ask about music genres?
You listen to a lot of folk?
Yes.
So what is folk?
Um...
Yeah, I am like that guy, except for cuisine. If I correctly understand, cuisine is the style of cooking unique to what I will call a 'cultural region.' So you would have those Iron Chefs from the original show titled Iron Chef Japan, Iron Chef Chinese, etc., and they would be designated as master of their respective region, though of course it would break off to Szechuan or other styles, in the case of Chinese, for example.
Well, I never was privy to types of cuisine, so I will just go by such clues as where I shop.
First, there would be Filipino cuisine, since I am Filipino on my mom's side and grew up with that cooking (sinigang, tenola, 'chocolate' meat, etc.).
American cuisine, obviously, as I love a good burger from a local joint every now and then, along with other staples of American cuisine such as the eggs benedict and clam chowder (oh, my God, give me that San Francisco clam chowder sold at Costco any day).
Mm... there is a local German restaurant called Gazzolo's I like to go to. I especially love the sauerkraut and sausages.
Vietnamese and Mexican restaurants and grocery stores are all over the place here in and around San Bernardino, so I grew up on that, too. When it comes to Vietnamese, I especially love the soups, though for Mexican I cannot get enough of those small tacos they sell in those stands they sometimes set up in front of the nearby markets.
Thank you for the question!
