Ask Zulehan stuff

My pleasure! Thinking of pleasure... What are some of your guilty pleasures?
I had to look up the definition of guilty pleasure to be sure I correctly understand. From what I read, much of the music I listen to may be considered a guilty pleasure, since I certainly would be too embarrassed to play it loud enough for anyone to hear. I figure guys like me are 'supposed' to listen to hip-hop, metal, and hard rock all the time, but my music taste tends to be folk, and most musicians I listen to are female.

Mm... not sure what else would count. I remember my dad used to ridicule me for watching cartoons, but he is no longer in my life, and I have gotten over the idea that there is anything to be ashamed of (esp. as many grown-ass men around me are far more into cartoons than even me).

^ Funny, a guy not listening to heavy metal would not strike me as 'strange'...
Also, cartoons are life. lad you got over the idea there is something to be ashamed of n_n

Speaking of cartoons, ever watched the show Young Justice?

I am ashamed to say no. From what I read, this is a spiritual prequel to Justice League, as it shows our famous (and not so famous) heroes in their earlier days. This may be why I did not see it: I was never much into what I call 'caped' superhero shows. The exception would be Batman: The Animated Series, but then again: ironically, despite the cape, Batman just struck me as a detective with a glorified business suit, heh.

What do you think of the republicans taking the senate?
Hi, Hidden Owl.

I do not think much of it. The Democrats have underperformed in the electorate's eyes, so the people have given the Republicans more control. Although I lean more center-left and consider the Democrats center-right (as opposed to the Republicans, which I see as perhaps more solidly right, though not extreme right), I am not invested in the former party. The reason for this being: I see both parties as corporatist, and solid in their support of 'discretionary' spending (specifically and most importantly the burgeoning military budget).

That is not to say I believe voting to be useless, only that local legislatures are of greater interest to me than Congress.... Speaking of which, the Republicans have gained the upper hand in southern California despite the state being overall Democratic. Whether Democratic or Republican, I would rather have idealists ruling this city (San Bernardino) instead of 'pragmatic' careerists.

Also, speaking of Republicans or Democrats, it would not be enough to choose one or the other, as these are two such enormous parties that incorporate a grand spectrum of political beliefs and attitudes. I may call myself a Republican and yet be neoliberal and militaristic or libertarian, for instance. When it comes to Republicans taking the Senate, my first question would be what kind of Republicans. And it seems the Republicans in power now might be the same ones as before in terms of military spending and corporate welfare, as mentioned before.

Did you ever build a snow man?
No, never. The only time it snowed where I lived, it was not deep enough for even a three foot snowman. Although I have walked in deep snow, it was during rare trips to the mountains. In every case, whether with family, a class, or friends, I was being led somewhere, and there was little time to even think to build a snowman, though one time we did stop long enough for me to think to 'make' a 'snow angel.'

Gee I always forget that you're not a big fan of super-heroes... But Young Justice is actually a show about sidekicks, and I find it very interesting (mostly because I am a huge fan girl when it comes to **** Grayson, aka the first Robin).

Do you like hugs?

Okay Zulehan. What would YOU do in a zombie apocalypse? Would you try to survive? Or would it even be worth the hassle?

Hi, Lockfancy.

I have no clue how I would actually react, and I doubt anyone knows how they would react, until this sort of thing actually happens. Maybe I would be frozen in my tracks, maybe it would turn out I am actually far more cutthroat and lone-wolf than I realized. Maybe I would resort to the horrible atrocities I see some people commit in the movies. Maybe I would commit suicide right away. I can present the theory or ideal of what I would do, but with the understanding of how complex and unknown the actual situation would be, and how that means everything planned would likely turn out far different.

In regards to how I would react: depends. Are the zombies sprinters like in Apocalypse No Torid? Are there different versions of them, like the ones who resemble dogs and have the intelligence necessary to lead people into traps? Are they able to carry weapons and work in groups like in The Evil Within and Land of the Dead? Can they form a giant mountain of corpses in a matter of seconds like in World War Z (film)? Are there 'boss' versions for me to fight that hold giant maces like in Resident Evil 4? Are they the more 'realistic' spore-parasitic flowering corpses of Last of Us? How does society look like? Is there still a semblance of the government, society, and military like in World War Z and Last of Us? Is there barely anyone left?

Anyways, I would not see the point in carrying on alone. I would want to convince others to work with me, secure a place that provides guns, foods, or supplies, or preferably all three (I am thinking of Walmart). There are plenty of military vehicles in an unguarded warehouse/parking lot nearby, and an armored APC might not be a bad idea. Would be good to have a mechanic who knows how to work one, though. Would also be good to secure doctors, electricians, city planners — people with applied and intellectual skills. We need to create a group identity and draw up a purpose. I like the idealistic model of the Fireflies in Last of Us: a paramilitary unit with a message of hope, but balanced with a more practical related goal: using the brain surgeons they secured to find a cure through the dissection of volunteer survivors of infection. We need a local power source. We need running water. We need, we need, we need....

Heh, man, I feel funny even theorizing.

ah man World War Z zombies would be the worst I think. That thing with the wall was absolutely terrifying.

This makes me think that I need to start befriending people who I could recruit to carry me through that sorta mess. In my opinion I think everyone would be flooding to the local Walmart in a heartbeat.... but hmmm....

Okay I'm gunna take you through a scenario. From the point of buying a box of Trix at Walmart, you are walking outside with groceries in hand, suddenly you hear a loud crash so you turn around, you see someone stumbling over a shopping cart, they appear to be advancing towards you, you notice that something is very wrong with this person.... (figures cause they just ran into a shopping cart...)

In that moment all you have in possession are yer groceries, car keys, wallet, cell phone and a single yellow starburst that you were planning to save for later. You also parked yer car all the way in the back because some angry looking fella ninja'ed yer parking spot and Walmart just happens to be super packed that day.

Oh and did I mention the guy thats coming after you is the same one that stole yer parking spot?

Think fast! What will you do?

What are you.

A dreamer or a realist, and what do you think I am?
I am no more a dreamer or realist than the average person. And I cannot give an informed opinion about which you are, since I do not know you well enough.

I thought the wall thing was hilarious. I am one of those people who, for example, upon seeing the ghost in Outlast, could not take the game seriously anymore. Likewise, seeing the zombies play building blocks on the 'wall of life' was the epitome of silliness to me. I wish instead of concentrating on making the zombies ridiculous, they could have included the obvious Israel worship of the author who inspired the not even vaguely similar film.

I have to stop you right there on the Trix. Ha.

The fact that I bought Trix and am eating them shows that someone has apparently made me do so at gunpoint.

Anyways, obviously, I would find somebody to act as a human shield then make a run for it.

Which one is creepier to you?8)
So long as they are not applying for babysitter, I am not bothered by either. Also, seems the second guy just really enjoys having clean teeth, and has not overlooked the importance of brushing the tongue, as well.
