Bad RNG Rant

i have a love-hate relationship w/rng. found lolly after 11 tickets and found sherb after 163 (booted him tho cx)

RNG is like that. Funnily enough, I found three of the five villagers you mentioned all in very few tickets. I found Lucky on my third ticket today and passed because I don’t like lazies. My dream villagers are Merengue, Coco and Diana though and I’ve never found them. It’s like the game knows who you want and gives you everyone else haha.

I’m having the worst luck with Pascal too. I took a few weeks off so I’m trying to farm the mermaid set in the days I missed. The last 6 days in a row he gave me pearls instead of a DIY.

I saw Merengue and Diana a few times and I got Coco as one of my first five villagers when I didn't know island hopping was a thing. I probably got her with only one ticket because I had to save my NMT at that point of the game. Even though she doesn't have her "real" house, she's never leaving my island

My villager hunting RNG at the start of the game was great, as I found a lot of cool villagers on mystery islands.

Lately it’s been terrible though, just see the same villagers over and over again.

I could never imagine going on 100s of trips for someone. Props to those dedicated enough.

For real. I couldn't even do 60 NMT's before I gave up and either just brought amiibo cards or looked for them from people selling them online. I'm not a fan of the RNG aspect of finding a villager. Lowkey starts feeling like gambling to me after awhile.

Anyway, unsure if it's RNG or there's a system but the last 3 times Redd's been on my island he's had all fake art/statues. It's so annoying and my art section of the museum is catching dust.

Update 7/19 - I've spent 850 tickets at this point looking for Dom. Wondering if I should just give up and buy him off of someone else but part of me still want to keep challenging my bad RNG...

Ran into Audie and Diana again today, and Ketchup my boo but had to let them all go

Update 7/20 - This thread has basically become a journal log of me trying to find Dom, and my search has finally come to an end today...

I spent 863 tickets in total looking for Dom. But unfortunately, I still didn't find him at the end. I ended up taking Judy on my 863rd ticket because she was the second one on my list and I just couldn't pass her.

Out of all the island hoppings I've done, including the ones before this session, I have seen 352/391 villagers in this game. And it just so happens that a few of my dream villagers are in that 39 that I've never seen.

Given my bad RNG, I'm probably going to try the campsite method to find Dom at some point (since I don't have any jock on my island) or maybe just buy him off of someone else.

I'm happy that I got Judy though, but I'm never doing villager hunting like this ever again.

I've passed Dom twice. I swear I've spent like. 200 tickets searching for Kiki. I've got the feeling I will never find her lmao
