Bad suggestions

Earthquakes and other major natural disasters, that destroy towns and even change the landscape. Giant volcanoes spew lava and major ocean storms flood your town leaving debris and damage everywhere. Ice storms that freeze the town making is slick and destroying power. Temperature matters and hot days or cold days you can only be outside for a small amount of time. Only through paying bells and making defenses can help protect your town, downside is you have to do the work building it. As Tom nook as your boss, and if you don’t work fast enough he charges you extra. Micro transactions and dlc to protect your town and keep it stable enough to actually build quickly. Reading all these suggestions from everyone makes me hope things like this are never added lol

Nintendo sees requests for cranky villagers to be mean again and dials it up way too far

they now, in addition to being verbal jerks, routinely assault the player enough to put them in the hospital with severe injuries and steal their items. with all of the items on-hand, in-house, in-storage, and the money in the abd being prime targets

they can also steal one-time obtainables such as the golden tools, with it being possible to never get the stolen goods back. either because they just get rid of or break them

Haha yes... and lazy villagers litter because they are too lazy to throw trash away, regardless of whether or not you have the beautiful ordinance. Smug villagers will cat call you.

Nintendo decided to send Resetti into pension, now to prevent that any sloppy player
would forget to save the game, the game saves every 30 seconds on it's own. If you
dare to turn off your console without end the game in the from Nintendo given way,
your town will be deleted as a punishment. To be able to save whenever you want,
you have to buy the "Bring back Resetti" DLC from the eShop for $25, coming out
2021 and will be only available for the first 1000 player world wide.

omg real talk though I would hate if the new game actually did auto saving. I've turned my game off just to reset after doing dumb things like digging up clovers on accident :'D

more bad suggestions:

KK Slider no longer has a venue to play in. Instead, the only way you can see KK is through the computer item where you have to pay a monthly bell subscription to listen to music. The new AC cranks up the realism: Flowers and hybrids die during the winter. Fruit trees as well. You can only grow certain hybrids during certain seasons and they will wilt when their season is over. Fruit trees drop their fruit randomly if left unshaken for long periods. Clovers count as bad weeds. Your "bad day" (tripping) basically depends on what kind of shoes you wear, making tripping a lot more likely during rain and right after. Not wearing proper clothing for the weather will cause your player to "faint" and restart at your house.

you say this like k.k. slider's train station box seat wasn't actually the best spot for him ever

ok, but I hardly ever wear proper clothing for the weather irl half the time, and you don't see me fainting

this realism is highly unrealistic imo

Flowers and certain trees would "go to sleep" during winter, rather than die (? la Stardew valley unless you built or restored a green house…-that’s more of a PWP id like to see in ACS….-)

Real talk, I wouldn’t mind the character "passing out" if that happened (animation is the same when getting stung), because I always changed my clothes to appropriate the weather (recently anyway, found it strange to be wearing a sundress in the midst of winter), and the closest that this actually exists is sweating emotion during the summer and fear emotion (that represents cold) during the winter, but i can see how annoying that would get after a while, so maybe...that shouldn’t happen...yeah, that’s a bad idea, hence the bad suggestions topic, that’s just if it was implemented (which I hope never happens)

Resetti actually wipes out your save file for real this time if you reset to much.

Every time you earn bells, you will have to pay taxes.

On random occasions when leaving your house, a special villager may show up as a door-to-door salesman, who will talk your ears off untill you decide to buy their way too overpriced useless product.

Once every year, the villagers vote for who will be mayor. If you want to win, you will have to bribe the villagers without getting caught by Copper/Booker. The dogs may now also arrest you if they catch you doing things such as littering, catching endangered fish/bugs or cutting down trees without permission.

The only way to earn bells is by getting a 9-5 job, which pays 500 bells an hour. Laws have been enacted to protect the local wildlife, meaning all fishing and bug catching is illegal. Property lines have been set up, so the only area you're allowed to customize is the little area around your house. Trespassing on another player or villager's property without their permission can get you arrested. On top of that, Tom Nook expects you to pay 500,000 bells a month in rent along with other bills and taxes. Should you not pay rent, you will be evicted from your home and your save file will be deleted.

The last thing we need is fake bad ideas. This forum is currently made up of 90 % of sincere but goddamned awful ideas for Animal Crossing for Nintendo Switch.

Tom Nook gives you a deadline of where you have to pay off the mortgage. If you don't pay
till the deadline is over, your house gets downgraded. All items that doesn't fit into the room
anymore are confiscated by Nook. The only way to stop the downgrade of your house is to
pay the mortgage in time or saying to Nook that you're fine with the amount of rooms your
house has correctly. If you say that you're fine with how your house is right now, you don't
have to pay any mortgages anymore, but you can't upgrade your house anymore in the future.

You must be fun at parties...

Your pockets are now realistically small, you can only hold one thing at a time.

New survival elements added: Hunger, thirst, weight, and sleep. You have to eat every day or else you'll die of starvation and have to start over.

To further add to realism, large items such as the piano will be unable to go into your pockets at all. Instead you must get multiple of your villagers to carry it to your house with you in a very slow and tedious process. They will complain the entire time.

My villagers would prob desert me cause I'd have a hoard of pianos in my house lmao

Also idk if anyone has suggested this, when you go fishing, you can't see any shadows in the water, and you have to wait 10 minutes to 5 hours for a fish to bite on the line, just like in real life.

can you also just leave the line tied to something like real life?

New weather features - thunderstorms can now strike and destroy/damage trees, houses, and pwps. Must pay a hefty sum to Nook to repair. (Also, Lyle is demoted and goes back to selling you insurance) During snow storms Isabelle declares a curfew where you cannot leave the house during that time. There?s now Haze that engulfs the town during certain seasons to reflect bad air quality wafting through after nearby deforestation.
Some DLC and special items untradable (cannot be dropped and picked up).
Plot resetting triggers Resetti to appear every single time.

This actually sounds like a good idea to me. Much more realistic tbh

I'm the kind of parent that would give his child what he needs, not necessarily what he wants. If Animal Crossing New Leaf had been conceived by taking ideas from this forum, the game would have had players racing cars rather than being the mayor.

The animals are constantly trying to slide into your dms and the game is fully voice acted, putting the projected release date sometime in 2030. Please look forward to it.

furniture has to be spread at least one square away from walls and neighboring furniture. instead of getting half steps like in hhd and acpc, everything has to be further apart
