I didn't film it or anything, but I was playing chapter 24-27 of my Fire Emblem Birthright Classic file, and, well, when it came to the chapter with Xander, I ended up winning in one move.... I was paired with my S class support, Dread Fighter, walked straight up to him, criticaled, and he died without anyone else even having to move. I ended up also beating chapter 27 and the endgame with just four units. In the credits it said No Heroes and 1 turn on the chapter with Xander, LOL.

Anyway, this brings another topic into my head. I'm sure you guys have noticed how people "speedrun" older games nowadays. Like Super Mario, Sonic The Hedgehog, and more. I in particular would be no match (just because I like to take my time), but do any of you strive to break records in older Nintendo games? I'm going to end up playing my first Lunatic Classic file of Fire Emblem Revelations, and I'll "try" to build the toughest army ever. I kid you not, one of the persons I streetpassed or whatever a couple years ago ended up having all of the siblings at level 99 I'm pretty sure, Azura, and the Avatar as well.... lol. I just want to do more research on this and figure out what's the quickest way to get through Lunatic Classic of Revelation without anyone dying (because THAT has got to be pretty difficult as a speedrun).

Your thoughts?

EDIT: This also probably involves the not-so-new notion of just "cheesing" weaker opponents out of the competition. Also has to do with time played consistently, and military strategy.

I've recently been playing Beetle Adventure Racing! a lot and beat my Mount Mayhem time earlier today. I've been playing Golden-eye a lot as well. I think speed running is pretty cool, especially when the game has a built in timer because then you don't have to time it yourself lol

Yeah, I agree. The games that have it built in make it easier to keep track of how fast you completed something in, and the good thing is, a lot of adventure/action-type games like Fire Emblem and Xenoblade have those types of things built in usually.

That's probably a hacked file. There's really no reason to level any unit that high other than for bragging rights since they should max everything out long before then. And considering how active the Fates modding community is/was, level 99 units were one of the first and easiest things to release.

BACK TO THE ACTIAL TOPIC, I've never tried speedrunning anything and I probably won't anytime soon. If I did speedrun any game though, it would probably be the first Mario Galaxy. I don't usually go back and try to get high scores on anything either. The only exceptions are music/rhythm games since getting high scores or perfect runs are pretty much the entire point of those games.

Mario Galaxy sounds like something interesting to speedrun. There's definitely still a lot of mistakes you could make that could cost you valuable time while speedrunning it. I in particular would like to see people speedrun something like Pok?mon Super Mystery Dungeon.... because each floor is literally a maze, and so you have to have good foresight to know how to advance quickly.
