Being TTist

Yeah, it's their game. But then they go and trade items that were obtained by time traveling and such, so it's not just their game being affected anymore. Just look at how many golden tools and as-of-right-now unobtainable event items that are going around. In my opinion, it's just as wrong as hacking.

I used to time travel, its cool alright. I even made a club, so just because I don't time travel anymore, don't call me a tt hater. However, I think you've got it wrong... People on here hate hackers, not timetravellers..
HOW LONG HAVE U BEEN HERE?

ppl hate TT as much as hax on this forum, it's visible everyday.
Storm hates TTing a lot.

They game is not "meant" to be played in any single form, it's an open-ended game and TTing is a built in option.
I've been here since November 30th, started the Time Travellers club, and recieved no hate mail. Storm wishes to play the game as it was originally meant to be played; fairly I guess. I used to time travel until I relized I already went to that holiday that I went to, and that it makes it more exciting to wait for stuff. I am not against time travelling, however, hacking and time travelling are pretty close, and the game can't recognize if you've done either one of them. Rover just thinks you are resetting the messed up clock, and they can't understand hacks because it screws the game up... but looks pretty cool.
At purple member thing, plz don't spam, it'll close this up.

Hax and TT are FAR apart.
Hax is literally playing a game the way it wasn't meant to be played but has unique results.

It's your game, play it how you choose. I choose to play mine fairly, not using any cheats or anything, but I do not have a problem with people who hack/ and or time travel.

TTING IS WAY DIFFERENT HACKING IS GETTING ITEMS THAT R IMPOSSIBLE TO GET AND TTING IS BASICALLY GETTING AN ITEM THAT U CAN ALREDY GET LOL

i agree that it is their game with which they can do what they will.

my argument against time-traveling is that items are made available when they aren't supposed to be (from certain events in the future or past). in a way, it is sort of like hacking in that the game is not being played the way it was intended. just because you can time-travel doesn't necessarily mean you should.

if the time-traveling is used to gain money, this disturbs the economy of the game. you have players who are unnaturally wealthy, and items in the game are thereby cheapened. players playing the game correctly become poor in comparison. that isn't to say one can't become rich in the game, but it requires a certain amount of time and dedication. think of the respect you would garner and personal satisfaction your would feel by achieving all of that, through no means other than playing the game the way it was meant to be played!

anyway, that's what i have to say on the subject.

Well, in the sense of playing the game like it wasn't meant to be played, they are kinda alike. The makers of accf meant for time to pass day by day just like in real life. I can read on the back of the GCN AC case if you want me to. It says it right there, so evidentally, it is meant to be played in real time and stuff..

Let me talk to this maker you're talking about, I can tell you that wouldn't be said.

So is it kind of a mystery if TTing was an 'option' in the game or if it wasn't meant to be used?
it prob wasnt ment to be used because it says right on the case "played in real time" that means day by day

Well when it say played in real time, it's just telling you. It's not saying "Played in real time, NOT MEANT TO CHANGE TIME FOR EXCITING GAMEPLAY"

i believe we would still be able to do it by changing the time settings on our wii console, since the game is dependent on a real-time system. the utility still needs to exist if the player travels through time zones or daylight savings time.

so i guess what i'm saying is the existence of the time-changing function is not proof enough that it was part of the designer's plan to allow time-traveling, it was just something that had to come along to accurately achieve a real-time game flow.

instead of just writing the same thing, i'd rather just give this post some more attention since no one decided to comment on it from the obvious SENSE it makes...

the built in clock is there so you can... well... put in the time of day it is for you, since the game was meant to be played in real time. the clock is not there to time travel.
