So, I've just joined an auction for a villager, and the auction seems to end at "Bell Tree 3 PM". So, what timezone is the site in? (I'm asking mainly because I wanna know whether I'm going to have to stay up or not). Thanks a lot!

Bell Tree Time is the same as New York City's time zone, along with Florida's time, D.C.'s time, and the rest of the east coast. Basically, it's Eastern time. But with the daylight savings time turned on, it synchronizes with central time right now. But it's still Eastern Time.

Wait, so what about the change in forum backgrounds? Like, when the colors change from afternoon to evening? Is that based on your individual timezone?

whoops totes forgot it was daylight saving time

Where do you guys even see the time on the site?

The only thing I like better about another Animal Crossing forum that I used to frequent, is that they had a huge time stamp at the top of every screen. It made things a lot easier for trading and auctions, etc.

I wonder if it was something that wasn't implemented here for a reason, or if it was deemed unnecessary, or if it was just never brought up....

Anyway, it's helpful, is all I'm saying.

I'm going by the time I make my posts, which is above your user name. But it's also at the very bottom on the website.

Oh I see it now.
But mine says GMT -7 and my local time...so does it change based on where you register as? Because, again, I think one unified time for everyone to go by would be much easier for setting up trades and such.

Sounds like that's right. I'm on the East Coast. I guess you're on the West Coast?

Yes.

So I guess I don't see what the OP was saying about Bell Tree time...if it's different for everyone, the person with the auction must have misunderstood how the time thing works here. They may have been thinking it's the same as the other forum I was talking about.

The person holding the auction is definitely confused. They're saying their auction ends at "3:00 PM," which doesn't mean much. LOL
