Frett is so cute, but he doesn't really give cranky energy to be honest. I really like Marlo though! I saw him on my HHP island and he looked really fun.

i voted frett just because he has the nicest design to me. cyd would probably be second, marlo last. i just find him kind of ugly, and i don't vibe with the whole "mob boss" idea. none of them even look particularly cranky to me, but frett's eyebrows could lend themselves to it when he makes the angrier expressions.

Marlo is probably one of the best new (cranky) villagers they ever added into Animal Crossing, I love everything about this little Godfather hamster.

I've passed on Cyd a couple times on mystery islands, but I think he and Marlo are both unique. I like Frett but he seems too similar to Butch to me (I'm not sure which was actually first).

I’m really tempted to say Cyd because I had him on my Island and I know I like him, but there’s something mysterious going on about Marlo there needs to be a new personality called sad. He’s a cranky, who looks like a mob boss and he looks like he’s about to cry.

Frett’s pretty cool to me! He definitely looks like a cranky. I don’t mind the other ones, but I need to get to know them more before deciding if I like them. >.>

I was never really interested in Cyd, but then he showed up in my campsite one day on my old island. I figured I'd give him a try and I really liked him. I'm a fan of the cranky personality so that helps for sure.

I don't have Marlo but I think he is so cool and cute. I'd say he's the best one out of the three for sure.

Frett is cute, but my vote goes to both Cyd and Marlo! I still haven't found Cyd anywhere, but Marlo was my second HHP customer, so he holds a soft spot in my heart.

Marlo is a clear favorite for me, because mafia hamster. Frett would probably be my second pick—he's cute, but his design doesn't stand out terribly much to me.

Marlo's design is so cool and I love his vibe. He's a mysterious boss man with secrets- and he's a little hamster. It's so great!
Cyd is pretty cool. I like his color scheme and eyes. I feel like his design could work for smug as well, for some reason.
Frett doesn't really stand out to me much. His look also doesn't shout "cranky" at me. Especially with his :3 mouth.

the fact I do not yet have Marlo is DEVASTATING to me bc I am OBSESSED with him lol. and the hamsters are some of my least favorite species, so I'm surprised by how much I like him!

Frett is also pretty cute, but I wish he was a different color (maybe a dark blue?). Cyd is not it for me lol but I don't like the elephant villagers in general ahhh

My personal vote goes to Cyd, I think he's my favorite male AC villager with Zucker.
I love his vibrant red color, his eyes and his punk vibes.



Cyd has the sided mouth

Even if I love the crankies, I admit a new punk personality would be interesting !

His mouth goes all the way. It's not like Eloise or Opal's where it literally is only on one side of their face, his mouth starts on one side and ends on the other.

Cyd’s design is awesome, but I agree that the way crankies are implied to be so much older is a bit jarring with his punk aesthetics. Then again, Punk Streamer Grandpa is a pretty cool concept, too. (His HHP request is for a gaming/streaming setup.)

But honestly, the sheer incongruity of a mob boss hamster does have to take top marks for me. Because like. MOB BOSS HAMSTER.

Marlo fits the cranky personality to a tee imo personally I like Frett but I feel just his design fits better in the normal personality and I think Cyd kind of has more of a smug vibe design wise?
