Beware: Bug prevents balloons from spawning

With the current event going on, I want to bring attention to yet an other bug that might ruin bunny day for you.

What glitch?
The glitch in question occurs when you get the achievement "It's Raining Treasure" for shooting down 300 balloons. Once you get the achievement, the balloons stop spawing entirely, even the egg-ballons.
This will not only prevent you from getting any more eggs from the ballons for crafting, you might also miss out on the cherry blossom recipes (You can still find these in DIY-bottles, although it is much less frequent).

Is there a fix?
Numerous people have already consulted the customer support about this, however, there does not seem to be a patch yet.

What can I do to prevent this bug?
It's currently unkown if you can prevent the glitch.

There is a workaround though:
To get the ballons again you have to create a secondary character. While controlling the secondary character via co-op, ballons will spawn again.

Keeping this in mind, try to keep your balloon-popping to a minimum. Maybe focus on the egg-balloons for now.

Nintendo doesn't patch glitches until they reach a certain number of complaints. If a patch isn't in the works now, the company has decided it's not patch-worthy because not enough people reported the glitch...

There aren't probably many people who reached that achievement yet...
I myself have only about 150 balloons right now. But cosidering that the easter event has you shoot down tons of balloons for eggs and DIY-recipes, that might change very quickly.

It's going to end up being a problem for a lot of people fast since the Bunny Day balloons are spawning at a much higher rate than the regular ones.

i just hit the milestone today it doesn't matter if you redeem it or not they will not spawn it really sucks cos i can't get any more recipes and i don't want to make another resident

well, I hope the bug gets fixed soon. i gotta say, this game has been getting unlucky with its bugs. like they're few and far between, but they're usually serious game-breaking bugs. my heart goes out to all those affected lol

i have 130 hours and you can farm the balloons if you stay on the right side at 6am to 6pm then they spawn on the left side of the island after that

Because of the Bunny Day balloons, this is going to start getting reported more often. Hopefully Nintendo patches this before this event is over.

i have 130 hours and you can farm the balloons if you stay on the right side at 6am to 6pm then they spawn on the left side of the island after that

Are you sure? I swear I've seen them going in both directions during the day.

i've seen someone comment on twitter that if you don't click on the actual "300 balloons popped" achievement and get those nook miles then the balloons will continue to spawn.. i wonder if someone can confirm that? if so, i'll just leave that achievement until the bug is patched. i'll probably reach 300 quickly now with this bunny day event and the frequency of balloons

im a bit confused about the work around. do i have to start the co-op session with the secondary character and let them be the leader, or can i start the session with my main character and just co-op with the secondary character? or can i start the co-op with the secondary character, but make the leader my main character??? sorry im about to reach 300 balloons soon and would like to be prepared >.<

ah it was in this thread, i was just skimming through and didn't see it. that sucks.. hopefully they patch it quickly

After 6pm I find they always spawn on the left side so it’s easy to predict when balloons gonna spawn.
