thats... just fantastic. now i literally CANT UNLOCK ANYMORE THEMED RECIPES. this is a MASSIVE bug that will definitely need to be fixed sooner rather than later. this will utterly destroy the easter event if anyone had it before then.

According to the original poster on their Reddit thread, someone called Nintendo support and they were told that Nintendo has a team on it. Hopefully this gets fixed before the end of the Bunny Day event.
I heard this earlier but someone said that trick only works on a secondary character? Has it been working for you?
Can we get the recipes we don't have other ways during the event? I have most of the furniture recipes that were listed online. Is there hope I might get the last few even if balloons are not spewing? I will call Nintendo also so hopefully they will get enough people calling in and fix it fast.
Yeah gonna do this til someone proves it has been patched and fixed for good. Hope this works.

I think you can get them from the bottles on the beach?
Ive had a few villagers ping me and run up to me with a new egg recipe! Maybe you can get some recipes that way?

I had a new update just come through, could it be anything to do with a fix for this? Can't confirm as only on just over 100 balloon count!

The new update is apparently related to the villager move-in glitch (which was still a big deal and needed to be fixed). The balloon glitch is unfortunately probably a few days away at this point.
There isn't a fix yet. Here are the patch notes of th latest updates. The ballon glitch sadly isn't among them:

Word of this glitch just started going around a few days ago. The Bunny Day event has kicked it up several notches. I bet they'll get a patch out before the event is over. They just need at least a few days probably.

Apparently one of the ways to prevent the glitch is to not redeem the 300 balloons popped achievement.
Not sure if it works for everyone but it works fine for me. Temporary fix but at least it's something.

Is this true? I've seen conflicting information on this...
it's not true. Just watched a streamer on twitch yesterday who didn't redeem the achievement since he also heard about the bug and no more balloons spawned for him despite not grabbing the achievement reward miles.
I haven’t achieved 300 yet (got over 150 popped as of writing this) but according to Nintendo wire, this works, they even updated the post on their website to reflect it
“Update: The newest work around is super simple! As tested by u/punkhag, do not collect the achievement! Hold off on those sweet, sweet Nook Miles as those mileage points aren’t worth this glitch”
