I’m curious if anyone is purchasing anything for Black Friday. I’m not much of a Black Friday person, but I will try to search for some online deals of things that interest me. Feel free to post pictures if you’re looking into getting something. I do almost all of my shopping online, so I rarely have to deal with long lines and large crowds.
I'm looking into getting Zelda Breath of the Wild for my boyfriend. I already know Walmart (Canada) will be selling it for $25 off which is rare for major Nintendo games. Then that way I can also buy the DLC and pay roughly the cost of the full game for both combined. Since I've heard the DLC is definitely worth getting.
I never check Black Friday since I never really need anything to buy. I don't wanna spend the money just because it's Black Friday. If I need something and it's on sale, great! Otherwise I'll stick to status quo. Most of the stuff I buy don't go on sale anyway lol
I've found some nice deals in past years, and last year I got a bigger SD card for the Switch that I still need to get around to switching in. Need to finally get about doing that since I've downloaded a few games since then and the HHP screenshots are stacking up.
This year, however, none of the stuff I've seen in ads has been all that remarkable or appealing so I don't know that I'm going to get anything. I might happen across something between now and then but probably not. Not really eager to spend money anyway so unless a deal's really insanely good, I don't expect I'll be partaking.
I'm hoping to find a deal on the Phillips Hue smart lights, a VPN, and Apple's HomePod mini. Can't really think of anything else I need although a single serving Keurig machine would be cool if it was super cheap. I will have to get my partner's Christmas list prior to Black Friday so I can see if I can save money on some of the video games he will inevitably want. At least he already has a PS5 because finding one might be a nightmare, lol.
it's quite rare that I go into black friday with specific things that I need to buy, since my birthday is always right around the same time so I'm pretty much covered! but i'll have a browse and if there's anything that particularly catches my eye then I'll probably buy it - for example last year i bought some glossier lip balms since they last forever and are really nice, but black friday is the only time they do some kind of sale. i never do in person stuff though - too much energy, not worth it
I do not plan on purchasing anything. I’m working my retail job that day, I’ve worked enough Black Fridays(including on Thanksgiving) to not want to give support to these stores on that day. I am happy to see most stores are actually opening on Friday this year. If anything good came out of the pandemic, is was ending these stores opening up at 6pm thanksgiving night for “Black Friday”.
I'm probably just going to check the Switch eShop. Or if I see a good deal on something I'm planning on buying anyway in the future, I'll probably get it. But I'm not one to go out of my way to look for deals hehe
i dont shop much, but i may check out some online deals. i recently moved across the country and am job hunting so ill probably just sit out of buying anything for a while until i get a few paychecks
I usually just find online deals but I never go shopping at physical stores. I already hated the idea enough before but with COVID that just seems like a great way to get sick lol. I also just hate the idea of being in a store with so many loud people that are trying to fight to get things in their carts. Literally tried to go get milk once and forgot it was Black Friday and the parking lot was completely packed with people to the point where they had to park on the grass of other businesses in the area. I left immediately lmao, don't need milk that bad.
If I do any shopping, it will be online. It's not worth going into the stores. Probably going to look for a new TV for my room if there's a good deal. Not sure what else but I should start planning what I might get.
I never do. A lot of the "exclusive" deals aren't that exclusive if you keep an eye out for sales during the rest of the year. There's been a couple of times when I've been able to buy something cheaper during other times than it would be on Black Friday. You're also never guaranteed to get the things you want to buy because everything is so crowded and a ton of other people probably want to buy the same thing.
Ethically, I think it's absurd and a publicity stunt to get people to buy more during a time when we should be buying less. I don't buy a ton of stuff and when I do I prefer quality over quantity so a lot of the sales specific to Black Friday aren't worth it for me.
It could be worth it if it's something you really need but even then, it's hit or miss for the reasons I mentioned above, sometimes you're better off waiting for a different sale when you can buy things without the chaos and get an equal or better price.
I never do Black Friday shopping. I don't like shopping in general. I buy what I need when I need it and I'm not getting up early and dealing with crowds on my day off to get a bunch of things I don't need. That just sounds like a miserable way to spend the holiday to me.
Now that Cyber Monday is a thing, I don't really find myself participating in that either. I'd rather just shop when I need to and not when the stores tell me to. I don't care if I spend a few bucks more. It's not worth the hassle to me.
I always check out Black Friday in hope to find something I could need for a good price, the past ones were kinda disappointing as there was nothing which was worth getting it. Maybe I have luck this time, currently looking for a mini oven for the kitchen and some shops in my area already offer some cheap kitchen devices in their "Black Friday Week".
I’m also not planning on buying anything in particular. I may look around, but I likely won’t impulse buy anything unless it’s something important I see myself needed in the future, like something travel related. I got a few texts from some of the travel sites I use about discounted products, so I may check it out to see if anything would be useful for me. I mostly just browse though with no intention of getting anything unless I need it.
