Once again we have a prime example of a user taking advantage of someone's post and completely twisting it. "trick and deceive players" is your way of reading it, you put your own spin on my example to try and add your own meaning to my words. I could have been saying that the fake art in animal crossing is gorgeous and that I think the balloons are the same. You on the other hand only ASSUMED I meant the worst (assume making a** out of you and me) I could also just as easily say that your comment is calling me stupid just by changing a couple of meanings here and there. You should apologize for calling me stupid!

Justifying what I said was my only saving grace against users that like yourself that pleasure themselves with ruining someone's reputation. I've already apologized a couple of times for the misunderstanding and not being clear but why exactly should I be made to apologize for the way you saw it. If anything, you should be apologizing to me for taking it out of context and putting words in my mouth.

i may have read it wrong but 'm pretty sure toad's second paragraph was pointing out how his first one wasn't literal, and an example of how people can twist context whether intentional or not. :x

anyway, this goes for everybody and not just zura but you can't just assume everyone will know you're being satirical over text and you absolutely cannot blame/get upset with people who don't know you for being hurt by it. it's not right to assume people are just trying to paint you in a bad light or make themselves look better especially if your humour is on the darker side, and if that's going to be your reaction then perhaps leave the satire out of your comments or save it for conversations with friends. just a suggestion to avoid situations like this one.

While we're all giving out life lessons to other users we might as well add that you shouldn't assume someone is meaning the worst. Putting words or meaning in someone's mouth is something you should try to avoid doing because It can be very hurtful to the user you're doing it to.

This thread was made in jest! I honestly hope I haven't offend anymore with my meme! With the coloring on my monitor the two balloons look very similar but they are different! Staff has done an amazing job with the collectibles! Sorry to have cause so many disagreements!

people being hurt by someones' initial words shouldn't really be equated to them expecting the worst out of people imo. i can't speak for others but personally, i was speaking as an artist myself as i'd be hurt to see certain comments in this thread be about anything that i made, whether as a joke or seriously.

I wouldn't call my self an artist but I'd agree that comments/jokes made to make fun of my stuff would also be pretty hurtful. It's a good thing I wasn't really making fun of anyone's art or Id be doing exactly that. If anything, I really like both the fake paintings and real paintings in animal crossing and so for me to compare them to the balloons just shows my appreciation to the mods :thumbsup:

I never assumed the worst of you, but clearly several people read your post as being too critical and this isn't the first time this has happened. Hence why I was explaining that your intent doesn't come across as you think it does (but as seliph noted you clearly didn't read my full post). You have made several "jokes" across the forum, one of which was calling me a narcissist on my own post, that have been met with people thinking you are being overall rude or insulting. My joke of "selling" a raffle to people was not at the expense of anyone... whereas your "jokes" are being too critical or flagrantly insulting people. No matter what you're intent, they are not coming across that way on several fronts. You therefore cannot shame people for taking your poorly constructed sarcasm for what it is... too harsh and critical, borderline insulting.

Take responsibility for what you are saying and doing, stop making excuses. Playing victim like this isn't gonna get you any empathy or sympathy, its just going to continue to paint yourself as immature. Saying "i'm sorry you feel this way" isn't an apology either when there are clear examples of several people feeling uncomfortable around your posts that you then recant saying they are just a joke.

No if someone reads your post as insulting and not funny, then thats on you for not coming across as joking and oushould apologize as such. Not give some backhanded apology that actually blames others for your bad joke. Take responsibility for your actions.

Its all very ironic that you call me "assuming the worst in you" when you are literally assuming the worst of me in my harmless raffle about mushrooms (that again isn't insulting or at anyone's expense, but you want to make it look like I'm a bad person). gotta admit, I didn't take notice to the light balloon's name in the shop and I thought they brought back the blue balloon until I clicked on this thread ^^" I don't like orange as a colour, and I wouldn't build up my tbt to buy a blue balloon as I've never really wanted one, so this event has given me the chance to get a blue coloured balloon.
