Can we just talk about Wardell for a minute?

I mean I find him so cute. I love Niko and Lottie don’t get me wrong but Wardell is so cute. I love how shy he is it’s so adorable. I really hope I can get my hands on his amiibo to invite him for coffee. I like talking to him and seeing how much I can get him to say. I haven’t gotten past 4-5 words. Does anyone find him as charming as I do?

I want to know more about him. He's so quiet but seems interesting! I hope he says more if you have his amiibo and either design a house for him or invite him to The Roost for coffee.

Wardell is so sweet. I didn't expect to love his character! I keep talking to him every now and then, just to see if his dialogue has changed whenever I reach a milestone. I'll miss him if he's not in the next AC installment.
If anyone does have his card here, I'd love to see what else he has to say as well. I'd also love a copy of his poster if that person is up for trading!

It was a clever decision to make him more quiet and reserved to compliment Niko and Lottie who are more outgoing. Sort of the Sable/Mabel dynamic. I'm also wondering if his dialogue will change as I progress in HHP (I'm only 2 houses in and not looking for spoilers)

i'd say i'm neutral. i don't care for wardell's design as much -- his mouth just looks weird to me. i much prefer wendell, who has a similarly shy but much more himbo-esque personality going on. i do headcanon them as cousins though because of their similar names, personalities and designs (both blue aquatic creatures).

I thought they may be related too but I just looked it up and Wendell is a walrus and Wardell a manatee. I guess they wouldn't be related in that case, though the design definitely seems inspired by Wendell.

I find Wardell to be the most adorable of all the new characters! I love manatees, so it is not a total surprise. But he’s so cute and sweet! I love doing reactions at him so he will smile.

Wardell > Niko in my opinion (Niko is fine of course, just don’t find him particularly remarkable next to Wardell )

I like Wardell. Its nice to have another quiet character like Sabel that can warm up to you. I also like that another aquatic animal type is given to us. I thought his appearance was strange at first, but the more I look at Wardell the easier I got used it. I prefer Niko a lot more than Wardell because the langur is so cute and always full of energy! Despite that though I do appreciate the time Wardell and I shared together listening to sounds on the beach! Those scenes really touched me in a peaceful sort of way.

SAME. i’ve literally ordered 2 more packs of amiibo cards off amazon in hopes that wardell’s card will be in one of them, just so i can invite him for coffee. i wanna have coffee with him so bad.

i honestly didn’t care for wardell much when i first saw him in the direct, but he’s quickly become one of my top 5 favourite npcs! he’s absolutely adorable design-wise, and his shyness is genuinely so cute?? i designed my first faculty yesterday, and afterwards niko and lottie both looked at him to like, see what his opinion was ig, and he just... nodded. i’m not sure why, but that immediately had me staring at him like “”. it’s almost ridiculous how precious he is lol.

in fact, i’m loving all 3 of the HHP npcs (wardell, niko and lottie) a lot more than i was expecting to! they’re so cute, and i’m really enjoying their personalities, dialogue and dynamic with each other!

Tbh his coloring is fine for a marine mammal. Plus we have Lottie who's a pink otter, so his coloring is fine in comparison.

I love Wardell as well. Just a great addition to the game and I hope they find a way to bring him back in future games as well!

He's a good character, I like the little story HHP has going on in general, it reminds me of how the NPCs would occasionally chat to you in Wild World and New Leaf

Does it have to be timeless tho? I don't think Wardell is meant to be anything remarkable at a glance. (Maybe outside of his species, Manatees are pretty new around here and all)
