Can't send pictures to private conversations via file?

I don't know if it has always been like this, but is there a reason why pictures from computer files can't be sent in private conversations or placed in signatures? Maybe I'm missing something, but it only seems to be allowed in public conversations. Any help or explanation is appreciated!

That's kinda weird...I've always used imgur to upload images to, and that always seems to work perfectly!

You can still attach or upload images in both places, but bb code is toggled off by default so the options are greyed out. If you click the rightmost icon (the one that looks like a gear) it'll enable bb code and you can insert images just as you did before.

I still can't quite figure out (perhaps because it's been a long time since I've posted photos on here). After pressing "Toggle BB Code", what exactly do I input? Thanks.

I'm probably misunderstanding this to some extent, but I'm only seeing it ask for a url or link something, not like an upload option or anything? I have been confused over this too since the forum update but if that is simply a result of my own incompetence regarding stuff like this I'd like to know what I'm missing here...

This should be fixed now for conversations. Certain usergroup settings are still being tweaked as things like this are brought to our attention.

Signatures will still require an external link for now, so it's not a matter of incompetence! I'd recommend using a direct link via imgur.
