I am posting my three mayor chibis ... Nothing turns out quite how I envision *sigh* ... I have a .ot of trouble with backgrounds, as well as everything else
This is Mayor Temp of MyCycle, Mayor Penelope of Tubetown and Mayor LuluBell of HotDoggy ... And of course, Lulu the Weiner Dog
Aka: The Tempster, Pennifer, and LooBell ... Lulu's nickname is Tubester
Thought I would share my latest effort ... This is Mustard of HotDoggy (one of my alt characters) and Tom Nook and Marshall
.... I can see so many issues that I am not happy with, but I lack the know how as to how to fix them
Any suggestions would be helpful ... I am using ibisPaint and am frustrated on how to use layers effectively for backgrounds, etc
Thank you ... I am going to try this ... I am such a noob with it all ... When you have done this do you then merge down all the layers? I need to practice with it I guess ... I am still loading my pencil sketches first because I find it so difficult to draw on the tablet.as far as layering help I say just make the lineart on layer 1,
add layer 2 under layer 1 and color on that layer,
and layer 3 should be under both layers, and will be the background.
Well that's how I kinda do it, but I like to use duller colors as the lines of what the color will actually be, if that makes any sense.

I would try not to merge any layers until you are sure you will not be painting on them again. keeping them separate makes it easier to not accidentally merge your line art layer with like... the background or something (which always happens to me :/ )
Thank you so much for the help regarding layers, Jellonoes and windfall!!I only have 3 layers in my program (UUUUUUUUUUGH) so I have to merge layers sometimes, which eventually comes back to mess me up later :\
Thank you so much for the help regarding layers, Jellonoes and windfall!!
I am going to try and get this into practice ... I think my problem lies in the fact that I upload a picture of my sketch and then I can't seem to do anything with the backgrounds.
So, meanwhile ... Here is another piece ... This one is my alt character Bunsy from Tubetown and Nat
Thank you, cheezuVery cute!
