Compatibility with previously-released amiibo confirmed?!

I know amiibo compatibility was all but confirmed back at E3, but it looks like we'll definitely be able to use the old amiibo from NL and AF.

If you go to Nintendo UK's New Horizons page with all the bundles and preorders, all the old amiibo products are listed:

Some of them are out of stock, but they're definitely listed under NH merch!

I'm glad to see that I won't need to spend money on a new type of amiibo, at least. But, I do hope that they restock the cards in stores again. Locally I can't find them anywhere, and I only own a couple of them. I am interested in having a full collection and its hard to spend the price of a pack of cards on one card on eBay or etsy.

hey thats awesome, i only have 3 cards but im in the process of getting a 4th figurine for amiibo festival, so it will be good to be able to sue them all in nh. Looks like once again, whitney will be in my town haha

I wonder how they'll be used? Even though getting any villager in New Leaf kinda felt like a cheap shot, I'll admit I still used the amiibos to get all my favorites, so I can't complain too much. Also I really hope the extra villagers like Cece, Viche, Felyne, etc all come back, especially the Sanrio villagers. I would love to have Etoile live on my island!

I hope we can't get any villager we want with the cards. Feels cheap for a new game but again everyome can do what he wants but it's also a little bit sad for the villager trade board I liked the way it was before the cards came. Also you will not learn to love maybe some new villagers but we will see how they will be used in the new game.
