Mafia Cop 9er mafia thread

My reason for the night 1 kill is even dumber than you think it is btw. It was the start of my weekend and I didn't feel like spending too much time wracking my brain trying to find cop or thinking about the game much. All I had in my notes was that cop wasn't Sheep, Armadillo, or Droqen based on things they said D1. So I literally then looked at you and Misty and said 'if I am leaving it up to 1/4 I might as well off the Ghost voter whose posts are harder to cast doubt on compared to Misty.

But the Misty kill was a lot more deliberate in that she had a post I thought was a self unaware slip about her role and I didn't think you were someone with a lot of cop cover philosophy yet but it was a mistake not to especially considering something you said about Tessa D1. I was already between cop being Misty, Tessa, or Bianca N2. It was more or less just that I also thought if I was wrong I would at least be getting rid of the other last minute ghost voter.

I'm just so so surprised Bianca didn't inspect me. I think I straight up said to b100 that if I failed to hit cop night two it was probably over for me. I then lucked out to find out Bianca was not only claiming but didn't have an inspection on me. I was subtly encouraging cop to out right before it happened too because at F5 by myself I wouldn't have been able to make a fake cop claim since it'd just secure my loss at F3 so I didn't care if I was exposing myself as not cop in doing that.

Speaking of which I do need to make that compilation for y'all. If you can be patient I will screenshot it all when I get home in the morning.

smh someone didn't read the Prolonged Signups game like he said he would. If he had he would have known that when I roll cop, I am the most abrasive and least-tell-y person about my inspects imaginable.

But in all seriousness, what was the "slip" and the thing I'd said about Tessa d1? I'm curious.

Omg, i enjoyed playing the game with everyone here. Everyone was so competent and really fought and really played the game. I am so proud of you all...even Geoni :p

^Also I really thought that the general mood between Tessa and Bianca day 3 was that Sheep was town and that Tessa would carry the sentiment to day 4 and probably just end the game with a hammer coming down on me. Sure, I saw those little moments that could make Sheep seem less trustworthy I just thought I would have had to do the work on shedding light on them (right now, even!). I did plant some Sheep doubt seeds in preparation during day 3 though, all the while carrying on with just acting uncertain and yet somewhat certain at the same time like a towny would. I just thought my EoD1 was hard to forgive at all in a F3 with me alive.

I'm so curious as to why a lot of people thought it was Sheep towards the end in graveyard...was it how I was acting/putting on the performance I did all day 3? I felt even with the acting most mafia players I have dealt with over the years would only allow it to forgive so much. Acting is my strong suit as a wolf... sniping not as much, clearly.

You said Tessa answered a question of yours the way she should have by saying Vanilla Town or something like that and day 2 you said something about an inspection possibly having been on Betsy and that it's possible cop has nothing at all or something like that. Too lazy to search and pull said posts up.

I am already rambling a lot here post game and yet I still feel like I have more to say.

I do feel like I kinda missed out on my F3 head to head experience with Sheep though, I rarely ever find myself in F3 as either alignment. ...Though I probably would have been F3 with Ace in that last game Dan hosted.

See I'd have never brought up the Betsy thing if I was cop. (Also if I was cop and the roleblocker died day one, I would have inspected you and it would have been game over then and there. You wouldn't know this, but I never inspect Betsy there because as I told graveyard chat, I hard townread Betsy because she came into the thread like 'how do we avoid eliminating the cop' and that pinged me hard since vanilla town role PMs specifically said 'try not to eliminate the cop' and that sort of made me think we had the same role PM. I couldn't say it in game because of the rules but, I couldn't not think it either.)

It was a mix of people who sussed Sheep the whole game (Betsy and droqen) because of the way Sheep treated their slots and then me. I got sucked in because everyone in thread (including you) kept giving Sheep major town props for "starting" the Ghost wagon, but I was the one who pointed out in graveyard chat that it wasn't an actual wagon until Betsy and I cut the brakes and hopped on with less than a minute to go.

Well, we were all looking forward to a battle royale d4, lol... lots of stuff in graveyard chat if you want a laugh. And while some of us held a sheep sus (not misty), we still had doubts. For myself, it seemed like if it was wolf!geoni, why on earth would he be making these (seemingly disadvantageous) plays that he would have to "fix/overcome" later. Didnt make sense. Here's a few of my doubts seeing you as wolf copied from the chat (in spoilers to avoid wall)

I've not played much with geoni, though, so I have trouble reading him. But as much as he looks into things, in detail, I think he would have seen sheep's initial ghost vote, realized they could be seen as town based on that, and chopped them over myself with the nk. I would have been an easy d2 target. If he was trying to frame my susses, it was a sloppy frame because two of them voted ghost when they didn't have to. This leads me to think geoni more town. If he was specifically targeting my droqen sus to frame at that point of the game, it's possible, but then why start d3 with tessa?

Thunderdome of 2, seemed you "solved" it for droqen, confident town position (a big fib we know now...)
Read thread, now have question. Geoni only included dro/himself in thunderdome. What happens if dro flips town? (Dros point). Where would that leave geoni d4? He'd have one tough battle to reincriminate sheep. Why wouldn't he just include the 3 of them? Maybe he is 100% confident on dro=wolf? So many poss reasons...

Other hand, what if geoni is voted off, flips town, and dro gets the boot next day and is also town, because they excluded sheep from thunderdome?

After last game, I'd think he'd at least allow for the remote possibility that a town read of his could be wolf (ha, ha)...

Because I would love to see the battle of the titans, I'd still vote sheep d3. Like you said, get the distraction gone, laser focus on finding the lone remaining wolf between geoni/dro. And, I am so here for that d4 eod.

I know the feeling. I'd vote sheep/dro for my wolves, but I'd be reeeallyy worried in the back of my mind that geoni had me fooled.

One positive if it is geoni- would have info on his wolf play for future games.

More doubts...
However- here is something I can't interpret well:

I sussed sheep for several good reasons on d1. Geoni stepped in to say it sounded like omgus. I responded and gave one (I thought) good example of a reason to sheep sus. He never responded to that. It's really weird, because he usually doesn't miss those.

So is he wolf, and saving up these little things to present today (like, omg i just noticed...). Or is he town and just didn't see any of my sheep reasoning?

Geoni could be evil genius. He probably has the experience to pull off a really good wolf. But if he is that genius, he should know to present a case against sheep rather than just a self defense today.

But I think some of sheeps tells are so obvious that it's got to be them. And the questions that were raised by myself, with some thrown in by droqen would have to be answered d2 if I were still alive, so explains my nk.

With all this, there were also some things sheep did that just didn't seem town to me, sorry sheep! (a few are listed in the chat).

Last thing to mention- your lassez faire, won't be around, time off, etc combined with really detailed, solvy type posts when you were around, kind of portrays the attitude of a calm town, solving the puzzle, not worried about leaving the thread for a good amount of time.

Was a good game (even dead, lol), lots of fun!

Also yes Sheep was right that I wouldn't allow a partner to act like this. At least the old me wouldn't. But I don't think that when I got super controlling I was a fun person to be around at the end of the day so I've been wanting to let my attitude change and roll with the punches. Not only that but this was Ghost's first game and I didn't want to give him a rough experience but uh...town said 'okay we'll do it instead' when he got D1 chopped. 😭

Okay you're very right about that but I also have to mention you were one of the last minute voters of a mafia roleblocker on day 1 and that made you 95% clear along with Betsy and I was partially compelled to whittle down that pool of people before late game!

@BetsySundrop yeah I was shocked to read how many people were suspecting Sheep in spec chat I was full on expecting reading graveyard going bonkers over my day 3 antics as well as me still being alive in F3.

@Sheep Villager you're going to be super bummed out returning to this endgame I'm assuming, but trust me when I say that it would feel much MUCH more devastating for you or myself if we had gone at each other for the full 48 hours and ended up losing for our alignment. Losing at F3 is a universally dreaded experience in the game of mafia.

Oh! GG everyone even though town lost. I'm not even mad, I had a ton of fun and honestly I've been more than just a bit amused at the fact I now get to put 'Seemingly Brutal' on my resume given the sheer amount of people who thought I would brutalize my pr wolf partner d1 just to win alone. I know I'm bad at displaying emotions but this has to go in the hall of fame. No hard feelings to anyone who did think that was the case. I'll just (Brutally) laugh it off.

I was actually not ever going to proper thunderdome you in f3, I had one ISO post half written before I went to sleep and I was going to leave it at finishing and posting that. I have no idea if you intended it but I was kinda stuck in a corner on f3 because I felt I couldn't say anything to defend myself. Both my tunnels were objectively horrible looking, and I felt discussing the imaginary bus would just look like I was doubling down on the 'teehee look how town I am in f3 with a dead PR partner' thing. Even when I was doing the final ISO when I saw your behavior with Ghost d1 it ran the issue of 'well now sheep is hard focusing on the POV where they are innocent due to the bus so they're doubling down again'.

Sorry if you expected more drama in f3 btw. I just don't have the range to make things look all dazzling and dramatic.

I do regret the fact I didn't indulge my tinfoil on you in f5. I can kinda post the though patterns I had about it here, but I felt like I couldn't post it during f5 since I had no concrete proof and I felt it would seem wolfy to the moon and back if I brought it up.

I just kept wondering why I was alive and thinking it had to be because I wasn't a PR or that my hard pushing tendency was useful. Then you positioned on Tessa/Droqen on d3 and I just felt like you were hoping to vote Tessa out for a PR snipe and then either take out me or Bianca depending on if there is a cop flip. The Droqen positioning from you felt like tossing me a bone to chew on while you wrangle out the PR in some way since my final d2 post was me positioning against Droqen already.

As a fun extra bit of info; this was why I asked Bianca about your meta because I just felt like you were possibly playing 4d chess with me at that point. I genuinely was not going for a Geoni is still alive angle, lol. It's why I worded the question the way I did.

Ultimately I forced myself to scrap the tinfoil because Droqen felt more wolfy and I'm horrendous at towncore so I felt like I was just being paranoid, especially after the Betsy tunnel. In hindsight I think my best play would have been to vote you out f5 even if it meant you might blitz me.

I don't know why but isth everytime I play this game I have to do something stressful or influential 😰 I guess thats just mafia for ya.

It was a lot of fun though and I think the experience helped me a lot. (I also learned not to have a crazy panic attack while deciding who to vote because you will be wrong😃)

Also @Geoni I definitely wasn't the only one who thought you were softing cop early in game apparently. You're too good at this smh

🤣 Funny, this was my first game as town, 2nd game in all, and in one of the how-to things I read, it said death tunnels was a sign/tell of mafia. I was like aha! But yeah, uhmm....that was wrong lol....

(If it helps, I thought if you were maf, your ghost vote wasn't brutal, but maybe an accident, as misty and I voted very last minute on it, lol.)

Hey same boat as me. 2nd full normal game and 1st town game. I also got hit by the first game as wolf phenomena...

I guess that means you were tunneling my tunnel. Tunnelception. 🧐
