Challenge #2
latest

Begins: August 19 at 7 PM FT
Deadline: August 22 at 6:59 PM FT

With all the pillows, blankets and adorable plushies brought to our sleepover, we should arrange the entertainment and sleeping area to have the utmost comfort with our soft and cushy items. How about building a blanket fort? Use all the comfy resources at your disposal! Decor is always a plus!

Requirements:
  • At least two pillows.
  • At least two of either blankets/comforters/sheets.
  • The fort should have an obvious structure. If the construction is falling apart, it probably won't be accepted!
  • Two photos will be accepted for this prompt.
    • Required: Full outer view of the fort
    • Optional: Close up of inside the fort
  • You must be able to fit at least one person comfortably inside the fort.

Good luck!

can I convince you that plushies are pillows? :^)

They are soft and you can use them as a pillow right? right??

Also if we don't have enough blankets, can we use towels?

can we use one blanket? i don't think my room is even big enough for a two blanket fort

Hi, I have two questions about this prompt :3
- Can we fold the blankets and put them inside, or use one of them as a carpet? Would they still count?
- Can we use chairs? Some people have been wondering about it.

Oh nooo, I’m visiting my aunt this week and won’t be back home till possibly Sunday. Might not be able to do this one. Oof

Would have still been fun to make despite being an adult. You’re never too old for forts, right? 😂

Sorry, plushies do not count as pillows! Yes, you can always use more than the minimum requirement, and if you need to use towels that's fine.

If I misread and you meant you only have one blanket, you could also use sheets as one of the two required materials from blankets/comforters/sheets. A towel would not be a blanket/comforter/sheet replacement, but just count as an extra item.

You can use the second blanket as any part of the fort, including to cover the ground or wrap snugly over things inside the fort.

Yes and yes! What is listed is only the minimum requirement. You can use other things to help build your fort such as chairs, couches, tables, etc.

Just to make sure, can I use the space in the bottom bunk bed to make a fort? I plan on hanging a sheet from the underside of the top bed to make it look like a fort using the space in the bottom bed, I hope that counts.

edit: here's a picture of my bunk bed! Just wanted to know whether I could use this area as a sort of "skeleton" for the fort.

Building off of skarmoury's question I'm a bit confused if we need to use the required materials to make the structure of the fort. Are the pillows for building the space or do they just go inside? I guess I need clarification on what constitutes a blanket fort haha.

I know you said chairs can be used for it, but is throwing the blankets over a table not enough?
