Count Inside the Bottle

Omg sooooo cute!!!! Speaking of cats, a 5 to 6 month old black kitten has been hanging about recently. I keep trying to get her to come see me and she seems interested but is shy. I am trying to get her to come a little closer so we can put her somewhere safe for Halloween because I don’t want anybody to mess with her!!!!
Try a bit of catfood and water to see if they're interested.
If you're around food, I'm sure they can trust you~

Hey @Oblivia , are we counting the long hair that’s down in there as well? 😂😂😂

I think I want the glitter
I was also enthralled by the hair!

Sat down to try to tackle this today and realized it's impossible to even try to do a mathematical guess because I can't even figure out the size of one individual string. Geez, I was already so bad at these BEFORE. Fingers crossed for an extremely generous bell curve for coin assignment.

I just guessed a very specific number that dealt with ghosts. Not going to say anything else in case I’m right.

the numerical field is this:

it should be right below where it says "thread title"!
Oh, *facepalm*. I did not click where it said "Thread title." Now I see it. Thank you.

How do I know which round this is? Or is that part of the puzzle. I am joining the Halloween event rather late in progress.

Maybe I'm overthinking this...but each "string" is each piece of floss, right? Not each individual thread? (When you embroider, usually you take two threads and use that...so each of these "strings" might be like 4 threads..... But I would think we're counting the whole piece, not the unraveled threads. Or conversely when you knit, a piece of yarn might be 2 ply or 3 ply or 4 ply, but you would consider the whole piece the yarn, not the individual threads twisted together to make the yarn)
Now I thought that the tricky part would be figuring out how many ends there were.... I thought there was a minimum of 3 because there are 3 colors... But some yarns/strings are variegated and one part of the spool/ball is dyed one color but then the rest is dyed another color and it's all one long string!!

So I guess at minimum, it's got to be at least ONE
Maybe I go Price is Right mode and guess ONE lol
(Two if you count the Pepper hair)

(I'm always so so glad with this event we get rewarded for being close, even if we're over!)

I was wondering about the ply thing also. But maybe that's part of the challenge. 😅

Just a reminder that submissions for this event close tonight at 11:59pm EDT, and I'll be revealing the exact number tomorrow morning. Make sure to submit a guess if you haven't already done so!

Results! New
Happy Halloween, everyone!

I hope you all enjoyed this somewhat different take on CItB! I had a lot of fun putting it together, and by that I mean it was the easiest to count on my end which makes it more fun by default. The exact number of slimy, sinewy, Pepper-hair infused strings in the bottle is...

4!

Many of you figured out my shenanigans and guessed 3, which I assume is due to the cream and tan strings looking nearly identical once stuffed into the jar. Here's a side-by-side photo of them untangled and in a slightly less sinewy state:

Despite the numerous close guesses, three of you hit the nail on the head and guessed the exact number! A big congratulations to:

@jadetine
@Mimi Cheems
@Chibi.Hoshi

All of you can expect a PM from me shortly to work out your super special sweet surprise. As always, thank you to everyone who participated and I hope you all have a fantastic Halloween!
