My mom always used to make carrot cake on my birthday, so I'd say I do have a particular fondness for cream cheese icing. It's yummy, so why not?

I've only ever had cream cheese frosting paired with pumpkin baked goods like pumpkin roll and pumpkin cookies, but from that limited exposure I would say that I do like cream cheese frosting/icing. I hope to try it on other things in the future. I've never had red velvet cake before but I plan to eventually.

I've had it on quite a few things: carrot cake, red velvet cake, and pumpkin muffins, and it's really good, but too much of it kinda ruins it. Don't get me wrong, I love buttercream (and really all kinds if frosting, I don't discriminate) and they're certainly very delicious, but they are situational frostings, and really don't belong on stuff like carrot cake. Cream cheese frosting is the same way; certain frostings works best with certain types of baked goods. I'm Gordan Ramsay, and that was our weekly in-depth analysis of random foods. This week, we covered frosting for some odd reason.
