I did say that I have a zoo idea in my past entries, but I have four zoo ideas. I'm not going to be specific on what animals I should have in each zoo (like lions, penguins, turtles, sharks, and newts). I'm going to be general and how the zoos should be organized.

Another tycoon game that I played a lot was Zoo Tycoon. I have started playing that 4 years ago and it wasn't a long time since I last played it. When playing it, I found ways to divide my zoo. I could go by biomes, continents, families, or scramble them up. And on this blog, I will actually come up with four creative ways that use the same division types.

Zoo #1 - Tunnel Zoo:

In this zoo, there is little organization on where animals should be. It's all indoors, but the larger animals get the share of the outdoors. Walkways are in brick tunnels, but there are sections that the zoo isn't in the map of the tunnels. Those would be the food court, gift court, aviary, aquarium, and reptile house.

List of sectors in the tunnels:

  • Great Cat Sector - 5 animals
  • Giants - 5 animals (all being elephants, rhinos, hippos)
  • Hoofed Sector - 8 animals
  • Primates - 8 animals
  • Bears and Wolves - 6 animals
  • Marsupials - 3 animals
  • Marines - 13 animals

Zoo #2 - Transportation Zoo:

This zoo kinda divides into biomes and families, but it's more about the continents. Every large exhibit has an observation area for those who want to see the animals more, get exercise, or spend less money on the zoo trip. Every section of the zoo has their own subdivisions, restaurants, and other attractions. And the main one - transportation.

List of worlds:

  • America - includes Birds of the West aviary, nocturnal house, desert section, forest section with trams, and rainforest section. All animals in this section comes from North America and South America.
  • Africa - includes insect house, primate house, savanna with boat attraction, jungle section, and desert section. All animals from this section comes from Africa.
  • Eurasia - includes rodent house, Birds of the East aviary, Himalaya section, rainforest section, forest section, and zoo trains. All animals from this section comes from Europe and Asia, with a few birds from Africa and Australia.
  • Australia - regardless of biome, all animals in this zoo that comes from Australia are in this section.
  • Antarctica - includes all Antarctic animals, but also includes a tropical aquarium, river aquarium, and marine mammal aquarium.

Zoo #3 - Zoo Islands:

This zoo actually is built over a large lake with islands in the lake. It is a lot like Venice, but as a zoo. Each island has their own orders of animals. The main island has a large aquarium, gift emporium, and restaurant, but the rest has smaller food courts and a few attractions.

List of islands:

  • Main Island - all animals on this island are fish or marines.
  • Monster Island - animals on this island has felines, canines, and bears.
  • Primate Island - has all primates in this section.
  • Hoofed Island - animals on this island are hoofed animals.
  • Bird Island - all animals on this island are birds.

Zoo #4 - Environment Zoo:

All sections in this zoo have only animals from the biome of focus. It has seven sections. Five of them have an extra animal house to give more focus on what biomes they can be in. There are foods and gifts provided from attractions too, but the focus of this zoo is to divide into biomes.

List of biomes:

  • Grassland
  • Savannah (also includes reptile house)
  • Forest (also includes bird house)
  • Rainforest (also includes primate house)
  • Desert (also includes nocturnal house)
  • Chaparral
  • Coastal/aquatic (includes aquarium)
