Honestly, I'd rather have Zelda themed items but I guess for Mario fans it's a cool touch on the game. I can appreciate some cool looking items, and they definitely give me some sort of nostalgia since I've played a lot of Mario games, but I guess I was never that invested in it, it was always just a thing to pass time for me.

I finally had the chance to properly interact with all furniture items and they are amazing. I like the variety and how they are so useful (and pretty to look at). They have so many interactions/animations and are really great.

I didn't know that the mushroom platforms are surfaces, so we now have 4 new different options for displaying items and that's good. The floating blocks are defintely going to be used as shelves on my home and they'll help me decorate without taking one walking space of the island.

I expected the Fire Flower to be like the Mushrooms (only playing a tune) but it. is. dancing. It's so happy to be here. I'm so happy it is here. The Super Star is also fun, the other two power-ups are more static, but they're good. I'm also going to place many coins around paths, the sound pleases my monkey brain who grew up with Mario.

The Pipe is very interesting and a welcomed feature. It offers so much on a little 1x1 size. Now I'm sad that any future crossover (if they exist) won't have these kind of new thing.

And while I like them, the Goal Pole, Thwomp and ? Block are the least interesting to me. They are amazing as pieces of decoration and the Thwomp in particular can be used as a fun barrier but I don't usually use barriers so... These ones will probably be displayed on my home.

I've picked up a couple of items. Some I'll use, some I'm still figuring out.

I installed a set of pipes, and I've embraced the utilitarian look of them. One is behind my house (had to move a tree and the fence back a bit to get the free spaces around it), so that's hidden. The one down behind my shops is in a fenced area and I made a wooden sign that says "Warp Pipe". I might put a couple of shrubs around it, like you might see in the games, or leave it as is.

I've used a few small mushroom platforms to hold windflower fans in my fairy village. The fans are meant to function as windmills, powering the homes, so having them up higher is nice. I already had some mush items in there for decoration, so it all fits.

I'm trying to figure out what to do with the floating blocks. I saw a cool shot used indoors, but I'm not sure if it'll work in my room. If anyone has used them outdoors, I'd love to see what you've done.

As for the rest of it, I'll use the Peach outfit, the rest of the clothing and items will probably just go toward cataloging.

just realized there's no Bill Blaster in this game. I wanted to make an obstacle course where u race a bullet bill across the island.

Once again Nintendo has taken everything from us /j

I sat on them for a while and overall I think I'm just disappointed with them. There's so much that could have been done and aside from the pipe and the mural they just fell short to me. I stand by that if they'd included unique villagers able to be invited during the timeframe it would have been far better.
