I've had nothing but good experiences on here! I am naturally anxious but once I found out all I needed was to block off Able Sisters and make sure no one has a birthday that day (so people can't gift the villagers) then there's really no way to grief besides picking stuff up or flat out not paying.

As for negotiating prices...seems like maybe forum has slowed down recently. Post stuff! See what you get!

I have only had really positive experiences trading here on the forums! This is by far my favourite place to trade. I have sometimes used Nookazon and I haven't had bad experiences there either, but I am very careful about who I trade with. I'm not interested in high-profile villagers though so perhaps I would have had bad experiences in that case. The negative experiences I have had on other sites have generally been because the other players/traders have been very immature, I am guessing very young people on those sites (including nookazon).

I’ve been seeing a lot of folks talking about trading villagers. How does that work? I’d love to get a couple of my bf’s villagers since he doesn’t really play anymore.
I'll try to explain this briefly. Basically how a villager trade works is that when someone has a villager moving out they usually say things like "in boxes" which means that they are moving out. However there is a feature in the game that allows someone else to invite the villager who is moving out to their island if they have an open plot.

The process is pretty tedious. The seller needs to put the villager up for sale and verify that the villager is moving out. Then the buyer who is interested in the Villager needs to confirm with the seller that they must have an open plot on their island so that way the villager that the seller is trading will be able to move to buyer's island. The Buyer gets the payment, fly to the island, the seller guides them to the villagers home, they drop their payment, and the buyer talks to villager to confirm that they will move out.

If its done right the buyer will leave their payment so the seller can connect it and when they fly away. The villager's home will have a note on their door saying "I've moved out" meaning that the process has been completed successfully.

:( i’m sorry to hear that you’ve had a bad time with trading. between new leaf and new horizons, i’ve done over 1,000 trades and they were all quite easy and pleasant! some of my previous trades were conducted on ACC and gamefaqs but i definitely recommend that you stick to trading on here - it’s been pretty slow lately but this community is lovely and bad apples are very, very hard to come by. plus, if anything were to go wrong, the staff here are a lot more attentive and quick to response than staff on other ac platforms that i won’t name. :’)

I prefer to trade with people on here. I feel the feedback system along with the great community has a large sense of accountability with it. Nookazon I feel like someone could just simply scam you, delete their account, then open another in a matter of minutes. I've yet to have a bad experience with these forums.

Sorry you've had a bad experience with trading! I love trading - I do 99% of my trading only on this website and it has always worked out well. Honestly makes my day sometimes, this is a great community.

Nookazon though, those people are sus

Is there a way to make a villager move out? I have access to bf’s island and would like to take two of his villagers. How can I make them move out? Payment isn’t an obstacle since I won’t be paying him for them. He’s not playing anymore and I think it’s a crying shame that Raymond and Sherb are stuck there instead of living the good life with me on Serenity! LOL

Everytime I think of that name it just gets me bad flashbacks. Sure I did get great reviews from people, but it was only because I was forced to wait so long for them. They were nice, but deep down they made me waste so many hours of my life waiting for them. I know be patient is one thing, but having to deal with this amount of waiting and not to mention the fact people ghost you is just bad.

Truth is I tried to talk to the moderators about this issue and the only thing they said to me was that they are aware of all the bad stuff that is going on, but again like in the OP there is nothing they can do about it. They can remove bad reviews and ban the person's account if they find that the person is scamming people, but those things take a very long time. I have to spend countless days to file my report, be very clear on what really happened, and of course wait for a response. It was hard being patient but it paid off.

Looking back I knew that was pushing myself too hard and sometimes when I rarely get someone who is actually responsive, quick and fast its very rare for me. I know from the comments I see on here that many people had positive experiences I guess I feel like I'm the only one who just got the worst part of it and I made the mistake of trading on that site than here, but oh well it happened anyway. I already got all the stuff I wanted from trading anyway, but it was at the cost of a bad experience. To this day I wish I could've done better, but its in the past so there is not much else I can do.

Two Words. Time Travel. If you really want to get the villager kicked out you need to time travel 15 days for the villager to have a thought bubble over their head so that way they move out. Only then you can have an empty plot on your island so that way you can make the other villagers you want from a different island, move out and then you can go to that island and receive the villager. I know this sounds pretty complicated but thats the only way to do it. Getting an empty plot is the hardest thing to do because you have to make sure its on the right villager you want to move out and the problem is its very RNG.

Villagers will have a thought bubble above their heads every now and then like this:

When that happens, talk to the villager and they will tell you of their thoughts of moving out, you can either tell them to stay or support their decision to move. If you let them move, the next day they will be in their house with all of their furniture in boxes. That is when you get your player over to your bf's islands and talk to that villager in their house 2-3 times in which at some point they will say something along the lines of "I don't know where to go" and you will then get the option to tell them to move to your island. They will be move in the next day. You must have an empty plot for this to work (so one of your villagers needs to move out to make space for the new one).

There are several time travel methods you can use to try and get the thought bubble to move a villager out (just google it) but if you don't want to do that, you will just need to be patient and wait for them to get the thought bubble in their own time.

I've never had bad experiences with trading in ACNH (even on Nookazon) so I guess I can't really say much negatives.

TBT is still the best trading community I could ever ask for. I would never go anywhere else.

I must just be lucky, because my trading experiences have always being positive. I trade on here and on Nookazon all the time with very little issues. I have only ever almost being scammed once, but they weren't even successful because I quit the game so that it wouldn't save.

I'm constantly trading with people. I always like to sell stuff i'm not using or see if I can grab some items for a fair price that I might want to decorate my island with. I don't mind using bell tree or Nookazon for any kind of trading. I only really avoid trading villagers on Nookazon, because I have heard one too many horror stories on that.

Yes Nookazon is very overpriced, but if you have a good look, you can usually find someone who is nice enough to sell things for a fair price and is also trustworthy and won't try to scam you. They are rare to find, but they are out there. xD

I like trading and don't remember any bad experiences. I'm very thankful for the shops on this site that have helped me catalogue items I wouldn't have otherwise been able to get and everyone has been really friendly.

Nookazon is expensive and I don't trade there anymore, but if you trade wishlist items or sell as well, it evens out. You do have to avoid the bad deals... I always like it when someone wants a genuine Redd statue in exchange for a beach chair. 😅 As for people taking too long, a lot of people leave it set to online when they're actually busy, so I'd just make several offers at once and whoever answers first. You can always cancel the offer.

My only complaint about trading is how long the airport/flying process takes.

I usually trade on Nookazon, which is faster and has a pretty good user-rating system you can trust. No bad experiences over there.

I've done probably 500 trades various places and only maybe 3 of them had problems, so I like trading. My friends don't play ACNH and it's a nice way to get new items and travel a little in the game. I have two islands as well and I enjoy trading stuff and villagers between the islands.

Edit: I agree that it's funny on Nookazon when someone is selling a beach chair and only accepts wishlist items and their wishlist is full of rare DIYs and art. It's just like, what?

I haven't traded using the TBT forums, but I'm part of another forum, where mostly we just give things away for free to help people out. I was a bit surprised to come here and see people selling things like DIYs, flowers, villagers in boxes, Nook Mile items. I guess it's just a different community though.

I hope you have positive experiences in the future!

I made some bad experiences too! :c
I really don’t like nookazon because it’s so pricey and they are a lot of scammers. I mean why would I give 20nmt for one diy that isn’t even seasonal/rare? I only use it when I need a single item that’s worth it.
I sometimes use an app called ACNH exchange and they people there are very sweet! They even do daily giveaways! But even there are some bad people who try to steal and give bad ratings.
But I really enjoy trading here in this forum! The people are so sweet and helpful and I never had a bad experience here (okay I joined only a year ago but that doesn’t matter) ☺️

I've done a fair bit of trading here and would say it's been rather positive. There have been a few things that fell through, but most were great. And yes, sometimes things took a few hours, or even a day or so, but mainly that was because people are from all over the globe, so we'd have to figure out a time when both of us were awake/at our systems. It does take time, but people have been very kind.

I've gone to do a touch trade with some, and they've told me to go ahead and keep the item. Others have thrown in something extra, or brought a thank you (if I was providing the item). I try to do the same.

I've traded many times and it's always been great! I only trade here though and not other sites. There's a good community here and the feedback system is super helpful. People are quick to warn each other of the odd scammer and I think the feedback system deters would-be trolls.

I've only ever traded on here and have had good experiences. I don't trust randos on facebook or nookazon. I like trading TBT for things for the most part. I feel like the trading scene here is easier to moderate as a known scammer would get run out fairly quickly.

Y’all have convinced me that it’s probably safe to open my gates. Thank you. If you want to come dig up some black roses (I have 30 available) or other flowers that are not in a formal garden, let me know.
