Did you get back to playing ACNH only because of 2.0?

i don't know if it's the same for the majority, but i really haven't touched the game for MONTHS and now i can't stop playing again since the 2.0 update. Nintendo really did their magic.

i'm worried i might get burnt out again if i play so quickly, so since it's the final update now, so i'm thinking of playing really slow. even the HHP, i don't want to finish it that quick so i'd have something to play when the time comes i run out of things to do in game.

It definitely brought me back. I played pretty continuously for the first year (launch player here). Festivale in February this year is probably the last major time I even played the game before the 2.0 update.

Now I'm back daily. It'll probably slow down to the odd day here or there eventually but I'm definitely back into it again for a while.

The update is the reason why I am picking up another copy of the game soon and start playing again this time while my friend plays too. Otherwise I would just stick to new leaf while my friend discovers animal crossing in the new horizons copy I gave her.

literally the same. continuous player here since launch. so i guess it makes sense we were burnt out by February. by the time it was 1 year anniversary, all i did was just buy some of the new anniversary items & order the Sanrio stuff i liked (and adopt Etoile). other than that, I wasn't really doing the daily's or played like i did in 2020.

it got me thinking, did i design my island way too fast last year?? but at the end of the day, i don't regret it. it was fun playing the game when it was very popular and there were lots of friends to visit & play the game with. if i took so much of my time just for the sake of not getting burnt out, i probably would have a hard time looking for people or friends to trade with, especially it seemed less people were playing in 2021.

I fell off in about June of last year? I burnt myself out fast. Now that the update is out, I'm thinking of coming back and giving the game another try, but I'm probably going to reset and really take it slowly this time. I don't regret playing the game while it was popular, but I do regret getting caught up in feeling like I had to have the perfect island and getting caught in a spiral of beating myself up while looking at other people's towns. I'm going to try to be better about that this time!

The anticipation for the direct kind of kickstarted me back into Animal Crossing. I was playing it daily up until about November 2020, when I burned out getting maple leaf recipes, then I had an exhibit to design irl and that took all my time. I played a bit here and there this year but since the lead-up to the update, I've been playin about 1.5 hours daily again. ^^

yeah, the direct kind of shook me. actually, by a lot. i didn't think they would add that much, i was only expecting brewster & then some. so before i was able to download the update, i prepared my island.

yesssss I so agree. I spent a few days prepping my island and revising a few things on the island to get ready, and that momentum has stayed as I keep decorating around town. ^^

I watched the direct with some friends and we kept going "AND WE'RE ONLY FIVE MINUTES IN" because there was just SOOOO much

Yes! I got burnt out and haven't played the game for months but now I'm back and even reset my island lol. I won't be time travelling on my 2nd playthrough tho and just enjoy the chill and slow pace gameplay.

I was still playing, but it was very sporadic with weeks or months breaks. There just wasn't enough to do, IMO, and every day more or less felt the same.

I do think 2.0 alone wouldn't of been enough extra content for me because the content drought lasted so long. If HHP hadn't of also come out, I'm pretty sure I probably would've just played for a few weeks after 2.0 came out and then stopped play NH completely.

Basically yes. I still checked in to see if their were any major updates worth coming back to, but for me, the game died a while back. But here I am again looking to start anew with the awesome 2.0 update!

Oh definitely! I love it all over again! I never did stop checking in to my island really. I still tried to sign in on most days before the update. But before, it was only to see if Redd was around. I also would make sure to get the new seasonal items and go to KK Slider's concert.

However, *now* I'm constantly playing it on my free time. And when I'm at work, I'm excited to go home to play it. I haven't felt this excited about it in over a year! This update is amazing and I love the dlc too! :)

No. I was playing a lot before the September Direct. But my play time has increased since though.

I played it this year, but only for a brief time, like two weeks, I believe, when they added the Mario items. Then I uninstalled my Switch and put it back into it's box. There wasn't much to do in the game, and I reinstalled my Xbox 360 to play Skate 3 and Third Strike again.

Absolutely! Before the update, the game was such a drag. I'm very glad for this update.

I think I took about 6 months off prior to 2.0. I am a bit annoyed at how the updates were handled. They made it sound like they were going to regularly do updates for 2-3 years, but they released the game with it missing a lot of expected content, had a few updates in the first few months to slowly add some content and excitement, then basically didn't touch the game for over a year before having a WA-style update and now they're done. It was just such an uneven update pattern and made it hard to get in a rhythm with ANCH.
