• Guest, can you feel the love in the air? Valentine's Week at The Bell Tree has begun with a new mini-event featuring four activities to enjoy -- new and returning collectibles are up for grabs! Dive in to the love here.

Did you get back to playing ACNH only because of 2.0?

Nope, I’ve been playing since April 2020. The only difference now is that there’s more to do than I have time to play 😅 (last year when I started and had tons I wanted to do at once I was on maternity leave and it was during shelter in place).

Basically, I was happy with the game before, still happy now, and excited to be discovering all the new items and enjoying the new features.

100 percent! Id stopped playing about 4 months ago, now I’m back to playing every day again so much more now to do, and I love working at the DLC

I haven't played in months aside from TBT-related projects and honestly 2.0 hasn't enticed me back.

When I do find time to play video games I currently gravitate more towards strategy games. I also can't afford HHP so both of these things likely factor in.

I got back 'cause of the 2.0 update, yeah. I was playing the OG game and was mostly busy with other things before the announcement, and now i've been playing pretty much on a daily basis. I'll likely be playing for a long time : I really miss my lil' animal friends, man...

Hard to say honestly.

I stopped playing two months after release and always planned to pick it back up again eventually. However, the update was definitely the deciding factor for doing that now rather than later.

Knowing the game is more complete, and that lots of other people are playing too, made me excited to join back in.

Yes, definitely. I never really got into the game prior to the update. And I have a bunch of friends now who also all started playing again.

No, I went through phases of playing/ not playing and picked up NH again around one or two weeks before the Direct aired. The update helps to keep me playing, though.

Well I was taking a huge hiatus from this game since it was starting to become too repetitive, but since the AC direct It got me back into playing the game and preparing for the 2.0 update and when it came out I was hooked into it. So I would say yes it got me back into it. Of course I am not trying to rush through things like last time because I learned it lead to burnout so I am taking my sweet time.

Yeah, pretty much. I may have logged on for a few days every now and then, but I haven’t seriously played again until the 2.0 update.

Not really. I wasn't playing heavily back near launch but I was at least playing monthly.

I like creating small animal crossing doodles of my character and villagers, so that's a big pulling point why I never fully "quit" the game. I think too if I reached boredom, I'd still play by creating custom designs.

i didn’t. i’ve taken plenty of breaks and hiatuses, and wasn’t exactly playing daily when 2.0 was announced or when it came out, but i’ve never lost interest in the game or stopped playing for longer than a few weeks at a time. :’)

Nah, I've gotten back because I felt like doing a new island a month ago or so. The update definitely kept me playing though, though I'm still in the middle of rebuilding so I'm playing anyway.

I don't think the game will keep my attention in the next year though. Like playing everyday just to do gymnastics and drink coffee is very repetitive, it's a shame that things don't change anymore. Updating your shops every 30 days was a genius move from New Leaf, it was exciting to unlock a new set of items.

got back into it without playing it for a hot minute around the time the direct w/ 2.0 stuff in released ! a couple of friends have also started playing again which is cool~

I was a launch player too, and I stopped playing regularly during the summer of 2021. What brought me back wasn't actually the update itself, it was the announcement of the update, lol. That little Roost sneak peek we got in that direct was enough for me.

yea def i was content with never picking it up again until the update but i really like it and with a lot of new items i am now wanting to redo huge chunks of my island so i say this game is gonna get a couple more good months outta me lol

Yeah it definitely brought me back too. I was missing so much stuff to do compared to NL so I got bored pretty quick. But now i think New Horizons is pretty equal to New Leaf.
I'm definitely taking it slow. I haven't even bought HHP for that reason, I'll get to it when the main game becomes a bit boring again but it hasn't yet. Now I feel almost overwhelmed with all the stuff to do (Kapp'n, Harvey, Roost etc), so I'm very happy and sometimes don't even get to riding Kappn's boat or getting a coffee from Brewster. But I remind myself that it honestly doesn't matter at all if I go a bit slower, everything will still be there tomorrow.

Still playing daily since day one. But ever since this update dropped, I've been playing my 2nd resident daily as well. I usually just use it when cleaning up things, which is seasonal. But this update has pushed me to use him to gather those extra DIYs and recipes.

it was completely coincidental for me! a good friend of mine was getting switch and animal crossing and talking about it for a while which made me return to the game, and then 1-2 weeks later the stream with the update happened! all i knew was rumours about the roost heh. 2.0 is definitely keeping my interest though, i’m not sure if i’d be as excited to play if there was no new stuff
