Do you buy or self breed your hybrids?

Neither. At this point the hybrids breed themselves and all the other flowers too, regardless of what I do.

when i bought the game, i originally planned to breed all hybrids myself but gave up rather quickly. i haven’t bought hybrids in ages since i have too many now lol but i’d say that about 90%-95% of the hybrids that i currently own were bought or given to me by someone else.

I mean, I usually buy them, but since I timetravel a lot I get tons of unintentional flowers, so I don't have to buy often.
But yeah, normally I buy them!

There were a few hybrids that I was given for free from a friend, but aside from those, I breed them myself. I still need to get purple pansies; I put that on hold since I don’t know what to do with the flowers that I have.

I'm not sure how to answer as I've 2 islands with 2 different sets rules.

On my first and main island I've bred them all myself and I got every type of flower myself. Blue roses were a pain.

On my second island, anything goes, and I've been buying flowers for it as I want it all coated in orange flowers

I got most of mine from people trying to get rid of their excess hybrids, with some others through hybrid island tours (remember those?)

biggest exception goes to the 50 blue and 50 gold roses I have. of which I "bred" the golds on my own, and made more blues off of the 2 or so I got for free too

I've self bred most of the hybrids on my island, except for my first blue roses that I purchased after trying to breed them for months and some pink hybrids, all of which I'd already previously bred myself but I wanted to get a few more quickly so I bought them.

I have bought/been given a few but most I've bred myself. Once you get one the rain breeds them for you.

i self bred all the easy hybrids (namely pinks and oranges), but anything that involved second gen flowers (looking at you blue roses) I tended to buy from here. however now i have an overabundance of everything thanks to the rain so i haven't had to buy flowers in months

I self bred most of them. I was given blue roses and green mums. Now as someone said earlier they breed themselves at a rapid rate. It's sometimes a struggle to keep them controlled.

It's a mixture of both for me, but at this point it's a moot point because I have all of the hybrids and more than I actually know what to do with, so I don't go out of my way to acquire flowers anymore.

I primarily grew most things myself, but I bought a few things like the various hybrid mums and blue roses. I don't have the patience to grow blue roses by myself, I bought them in New Leaf too.

I primarily grew mine myself but I did get the occasional hybrid from a friend that I had to try to make more of. Mostly I had always bred it I just wanted more of that particular color and didn't want to wait. I've never bought flowers online I don't think! It was a long process, but rewarding now that I was able to plant beautiful flowers everywhere!!

A combination - I've had some that self-bred naturally, but I've bought a few when I needed them or when I had trouble self-breeding them.

I'm trying to breed some blue roses right now but I'm already getting frustrated with the process, so I'm probably just going to end up buying them. All of my other hybrids were free from other islands, people have just been giving them away this time!

I do both but it usually ends up that I need a bigger amount of hybrids so I try and TT around for a little bit trying to get plenty and then I get tired of doing that and then just buy them lol
