nope it gives me anxiety

wait i responded to the poll wrong. the question is different from the title .-.

Absolutely not. It makes me do worse and I’ll go insane if someone is watching me, lol.

No like the fact that you think that when there are people who are watching you, you need to do better and impress them. I do so many mistakes in what I'm doing.

Not in the slightest. If anything, I do worse when people are watching me because I'm way too worried about making a mistake or messing something up in front of them and having them judge me for it.

For whatever reason I almost always do better when people are watching me. It’s like the pressure of impressing someone makes me perform well. It does depend on the game though. There are some games I’m too embarrassed to show people.

no I do not do well. I have a client who gets impatient with me if i don't get what they're saying exactly when they say it and its even worse. I adore this person, but they need to get out of my business because they have zero chill.

Heck no, it makes me feel super nervous because I always feel like somebody's watching meee! (I had to. XD)
My whole family has this really bad habit of staring at me, especially my step-mom and my brother. Despite me telling them on multiple occasions that it makes me uncomfortable, they don't stop.

No, I tend to do better working on my own. If someone's watching me then I'll get self-conscious and feel the need to justify/explain any mistakes I make. ;;

I never like it when others watch me work or do any kind of task, no. It feels like they're being critical even though that's not always the case. I do so much better working on my own or feel very confident and focused on what I'm doing.

I do get nervous and start to overthink what I'm doing and how I'm doing it, because I'm afraid of doing it wrong or just being that one person who does it differently. It could be some menial task I've done a thousand times already and know step by step how to do it, but depending on what it is, if someone is watching me, I suddenly can't focus and easily fumble and rush.

I sometimes can't deal with this damn anxiety...and the fear of making mistakes, but I should remember that no one is perfect. No such thing. When I make a mistake I'm too hard on myself about it.

Generally no, though it's situational. In the case of my work it's usually not a good thing. Something would happen at a large scale that holds everything up, so they'd usually investigate the lab first (my derestriction). There was one day within a week of my training where the testing came out totally wrong of what was expected. I'd done all the testing correctly, but the issue was that the sample wasn't mixed correctly as the product level in the tank was too low to be agitated. So until the lab supervisor got there, I was just questioned over and over, doing re-test after re-test for the supervisors while being watched the entire time because they thought it was my mistake. It was an extremely uncomfortable experience, though I'm somewhat glad it happened in terms of knowing what to look for next time.

I'm not sure tbh. I work at a coffee shop so naturally people eye us down when we're making drinks, but I try not to let it get to me and just focus on the task at hand. I've gotten used to it but it still annoys me so yeah 🤷🏻‍♂️

absolutely not. people watching me, whether it’s just casually or while i’m doing a presentation or something, makes me feel extremely nervous and like everything i’m doing from how i’m standing to how i’m breathing is being judged and silently mocked. being watched makes it hard for me to think or concentrate, as i’m more focused on the fact that i’m being watched and am around people, which means i’m more likely to mess up whatever i’m doing. i like being paid attention to when i’m talking, but eye contact is not a must, and i would prefer for eyes to not be on me while i’m talking or doing something. in fact, i’ve even been tempted to ask my classmates to close their eyes while i give a presentation in the past so that they wouldn’t all be staring at me. 🤣

No absolutely not lol. I don't like the pressure or judgement, it makes me very uncomfortable 🥴

I could be a pro at whatever it is I'm doing but as soon as someone is watching, I stress out and mess up. It sucks lol.

I answered the poll based on the thread title and not the poll itself.

It definitely makes me stressed, that's why I like working from home now

for me, doing better when people are watching me is very different from getting stressed out when people are watching me. I absolutely get stressed out when people watch me, I remember before all my piano recitals I would have like a mini anxiety attack because of how stressed I was. but I will also say that I always seem to do better in actual recitals, where people are watching me perform, than when I'm playing alone. idk why that is but it's kinda funny to me. I guess I always tell myself "you just do your best and dw about others' expectations" though I know that everyone had high expectations for me in college, being a music/piano performance major and all. performing in front of a crowd never truly gets easier but it does become more comfortable the more you do it.

so basically, yes, I do get stressed when people watch me, but I also do better when people watch me so it kinda just ends up working out lol 🤷‍♂️

edit: also would like to add, when I'm performing in a group I actually don't really get stressed at all, because I know that not all the focus is on me. it's the same way when I'm talking with people, I get nervous doing 1-on-1 chats but I'm fine in a group. I was never stressed about my wind ensemble recitals because there were like 40-something other people to look at.

As an Introvert, I feel uncomfortable whenever I have so many people watching me. I prefer to do things by myself because it makes me feel more relaxed.

Depends on the situation? Mostly I get nervous when people are watching me, but for example when I’m studying I actually do better precisely because I think people are watching me (I don’t want them to think I’m slacking off).
