Do you download or stream music?

A bit of both, mostly download.

For one, the only way I'm going to get "my music" in my car is through MP3's on a USB (or CD's...But just no). I therefore download everything I like so I can put on there, especially since my car's stereo for some reason has a limit on how many songs/folders it will recognise, so I need to keep downloaded stuff to change up what's on there occasionally.

Secondly, I play D&D and for music I prefer to just have 'extended versions' of songs that are like 30 minutes to an hour in length ready to go, usually ripped from Youtube. To avoid adverts and because we don't always play somewhere with a consistent (or any) internet connection, downloads are the way to go.

Thirdly, I just really like music. I do find myself in places where I just don't have any internet connection from time to time. It would be a shame if, say, me and my friends and/or girlfriend just went somewhere nice to just chill but we had to do it in silence because there's no internet and we all relied on streaming everything.

On the other hand I've recently started using Spotify since it was ?1 for 3 months, seemed like an okay deal given I would be using it fairly regularly this month. It's convenient having near all the songs from a band on demand, especially new stuff I may not have had a chance to download.

I also quite like how they'll slip in a couple songs from bands I don't already follow based on what I do like. I tend to dislike most of these songs/bands, but I have come across a couple that I really liked that I probably wouldn't have heard of otherwise.

Otherwise I don't see much other benefit to streaming over downloading. It doesn't really effect any of my storage space given I bought storage specifically for music and the 'convenience' is arguably a bit better with downloads if you don't mind needing storage since there's never going to be an issue due to internet connectivity.

me at 12 years old downloading songs off of Youtube to mp3

I still do this either because some bands I like are just that unknown they don't have downloads or streaming options available or because it's some sort of 'fan made' thing that can't legally be gotten elsewhere.

spotify and youtube i dont really like youtube cus its annoying but its got a lot of songs that isnt on spotify

I always stream on Spotify. However, there are quite a few songs that I can?t get access to on Spotify, so I always keep my YouTube playlists updated as well and stream often on there too.
I used to download a lot (because of limited internet access and I wanted good music when i went on runs), but nowadays I get new phones and devices so often that it?s not even worth the time to download music on my devices. Plus, it takes up a lot of space. I stream nowadays because it saves a lot of space.

I download. I listen to music the most frequently when I'm not on Wi-Fi (eg on the bus) so I don't think streaming would be practical for me. I also just like owning favourite songs

i stream using spotify , but only to artists i really love

when its an artist that its "meh" to me , i just listen to them on youtube

Most of the time I'm either listening to music on youtube or on my mp3 player which I download songs from youtube (it can only hold like 90 songs and it's been loading slowly whether I'm trying to delete or add songs recently ;____; ) I used to have a phone with little space so I like having music in a separate device but I just got an upgrade so I don't really need to use it anymore but I still like to use it lol

and I use spotify sometimes but not often since there's region blocked songs or songs that just aren't on there that I wanna listen to :B

I mostly use Spotify, but for songs I can't get there I use SoundCloud. I'll also use YouTube, but less so for music.

I stream using spotify. Pretty great place to discover new music. If its a group/artist I really like or just in general I download.

Always download. For me it comes in handy. Traveling a lot and some areas just lose connection and you don't have internet for hours. Plus there's a lot of music I listen to that's not on any streaming services.

I usually just listen to it on YouTube, but if I want it
somewhere, I will just download it and put it on my
good old MP3 Player! :b

I stream music using Spotify and YouTube, but I also sometimes buy CD's of artists I really like.

Sometimes I do, but I have always strongly preferred to own my favorite music in a physical format (primarily CDs. I personally didn't ever get into the whole "hipster" vinyl record collecting revival trend. I'm also not really an "audiophile", so who cares?). Streaming (from YouTube and Bandcamp) is great for when I'm sampling music and when I'm not at home with my collection. If I really love a music release, I'll eventually purchase a physical copy of it. However, if a CD is absurdly expensive, difficult to get ahold of, or was only ever released on vinyl or cassette, then I just download it (legally, of course. There is one exception though: If a recording is so obscure that it's not even available to buy and download, then in that case I will be forced to illegally download it).

i stream music, and have for the past several years. i would download songs and albums that i really loved back when i only had my old ipad, so that i could listen to them whenever i wasn’t connected to wifi, but i stopped once i got my phone and could use data to stream music instead.

i download my playlists and jam. or just stream if i'm online (on spotify/youtube). useful if you share an account

or screen record youtube stuff (concert/song recordings) that aren't on music platforms so i can listen to them offline/just whenever tbh

I have an adblock, so I stream music on Youtube if I want to hear something in particular or niche like "Nintendo study music." Otherwise, I just listen on Pandora. I need to try out Spotify one of these days and see if I like it.

the closest i do to streaming is using youtube for music but with ads. in terms of using apple music, i’d much rather buy songs/albums outright than have to pay $9 a month to stream.
