I've actually never carved a pumpkin! When we were little we never did it because my sister was allergic (or maybe my parents just didn't want the mess and fuss with four kids lol) and I just haven't done it yet. At this rate I'll probably wait till @Saylor and I are together so I can experience pumpkin carving with her!!
I would love to carve a pumpkin with my toddlers though.... I think they'd like to squish the pumpkin guts hehehe. I don't know if my coteacher would be up for that, though.
Autumn is my favorite season and pumpkin carving is an activity I look forward to every year. I try to make a unique design each time. I'm also one of the people who enjoys the smell of pumpkin guts
Not really, I'm just not into crafts in geneal and would put pumpkin carving under that. Cutting out literally anything (even paper)) for crafting/creative reasons is frustrating to me. I used to do pumpkin carving with my dad when I was younger, but I usually just drew the face and he'd do all the carving. He let me try a few times and even as a kid I much preferred just designing what would be carved into it lol.
It's not something we do every year and it's not something I would enjoy doing frequently. It's fun to do whenever it comes up though. I'm not actually good at carving so the result is whatever I scramble together.
So I enjoy pumpkin carving to an extent. I'm not the biggest fan of taking out the seeds of the pumpkin because it's really slimey and I have a weird thing about textures but I love designing the pumpkin. I tend to make someone else take out the seeds for me so I don't have to touch them.
i think i may have done it when I was younger and i think i liked it, my parents don't celebrate Halloween anymore so i haven't had a chance to now. i would like to though..
the concept is fun and i do enjoy it, if i have time to go at my own pace! but i really have to start using gloves, the pumpkin goo feels weird and it hurts when it gets into wounds, my hands are always red afterwards. my dad carves pumpkins every year though so even if i dont some years, i dont feel like im missing out
I don’t like doing it, but I like looking at pumpkin carvings— especially ones that go outside of the gourd, like, not the usual Jack o’ Lanterns. Cat faces, spiders, etc.
I enjoy it. The last one I carved for the Halloween event was not easy to carve, that pumpkin was all dried and falling apart, I couldn't do what I wanted to but I was happy to be able to do something with it (then I boiled it and made soup and bread)
I like looking at pumpkin carvings, though I'm not good at carving them myself. I think I only managed to carve a pumpkin well once, and I find that painting them is far easier.
