Not necessarily, but I do like the male personalities better, like crankies, jocks and lazies. The females are nice but they feel very similar to me. I think I like uchi best. Not choosing villagers based on gender, though. I like to have some variery. At one point I had three lazies on my island and the dialogue was so annoyingly repetative.

I choose my villagers more based on design and fit (with my island aesthetics), but I aim to balance out my gender rations 50/50. That said, I'd also be okay with 6/4 as long as I have all the personalities represented on my island. Diversity is great! :)

Females have good designs, also most men on my island look...meh, Punchy and Dizzy are exceptions though.

I prefer a good balance, although at the end of the day, it is more about individual villagers than keeping tabs on gender. While I am pretty even with the gender balance now, I recall a few times when I was female heavy (at the time, I had a lot of normal villagers, but I have since gotten a bit bored with that personality and have tried to spice it up).

Hope I'm allowed to talk about LGBTQ+ but my villagersona has been a lesbian since New Leaf. Right now Katyperry is "dating" Pashmina. I know this isn't romantically though, so I welcome females and males on my islands.

This was a bit tough. In terms of my island, i always wanted to make sure I had at least 1 of each personality, though I have went spells without one simply cause I didn't find a good replacement. Lazy, Snooty, and Normal have all went spells without anyone on my island. However, I do lean towards the males overall and voted so.

I kind of blame the Sisterlys and Peppys for this. Both of these personalities have a lot of unappealing designs to me. I just am not that drawn to the designs for most of the pool for them. (a lot of nose-less cats and bunnies for Peppy) Then Normals have the personality of cardboard, so I really don't want to double up on them despites having some really good designs. Awkwardly, I have doubled up on Normals like two or three times when cycling simply cause of who I ran into. Each time lead to me getting annoyed with their very vanilla dialogue. The only male personality I don't have much desire to repeat is Lazy since they go to bed so early. I used to not see my Lazy villager back when I worked a different shift, my shift has changed but still have that outlook to not double up on them.

So that leaves me likely to double up on Snooty, Jock, Smug, or Cranky. So it's greatly favored for the boys.

Usually in video games I have a strong preference for female characters over male characters but it's different in Animal Crossing. Maybe because they're animals; but I find both genders equally cute - sometimes I can't tell what gender they're supposed to be based on appearance alone.

I like to keep a balance between personalities on my island, so I automatically always have about equal amount of female and male villagers. I can't stand the jock and peppy dialogue, but I appreciate their designs a lot. I don't think I have a bias - and I don't really pick my villagers after their gender. I wish they would mix up the existing personality types so that for example lazy villagers could be female, peppy ones male etc because I think that would bring some more diversity in dialogue and designs.

That's not to say I dislike the females, but if not for the sake of variety, I would probably only have Megan and then 9 guys lol
I've given up on veriety sake and now do have 9 males and Megan

I really don't care about the genders. All I care about is how they look and if they fit my personality well.
