so recently i got a tattoo and i was a lil dumb about it, a lot of people like it or are neutral about it.
wondering if anyone here has tattoos they love, tattoos they regret, or tattoos people want

i would feel stupid explaining my tattoo; just know its a stick n poke of two words above my knee.
i really wanted a kodama (forest spirits from princess mononoke) tattoo but idk

I'm too pain intolerant to get a tattoo, but in a hypothetical world I wouldn't mind getting something really small and meaningful.

I have five tattoos currently (six if you count the one that?s fading out of my skin- thank god).
A tiny handpoke leaf I did on my hand, three (almost four) years ago
A tiny handpoke series of three dots on my ring finger
A handpoke of the letter ?C? above my left knee
And two traditional blackwork spiderwebs on my shoulders (one on each shoulder) with red hearts in the middle of them.
I don?t regret any of my handpokes simply because they?re the quickest to fade, especially considering two of them are on my fingers, and the other one is on my hand, which are ?high-traffic? areas meaning the skin sheds the fastest in those spots. So, they?ll be gone soon, two of them within a few months, unless I touch them up. But I?d rather stick to professional machine-done tattoos, or handpokes done by professional artists these days.
I definitely plan on getting more. Don?t want to go too far into it because people are judgemental and see tattoos as something ?dirty? and ?gross? but I definitely have many more to come.

SO my friend did a stick n poke of "dare i?" above my knee. at first it was really light, i was alright with it but then she went over it a few times and it is super dark. i was kind of in regret at first but now i don't care too much. i want to get a few more things but ill go to this really good artist. i don't wanna get too much either, but your tattoos sound super cute

I have a matching tattoo with my husband. got it for our 1 year wedding anniversary (but 6 year anniversary since we first started dating). I have the sun with his initials and he has the moon with my initials. He wants to get another matching (two crosses) but we are broke for now xD plus we are mainly using our money on our daughter (shes a few months old at the moment) and our son (hes 4). XD though my sister wants to get a matching with me as well xD she wants to get wolves. And I honestly dont mind n.n they'll be small since I won't do big tattoos (my tolerance for pain is at a medium, so I dont want to push it).

I have 2 tattoos, and I love both of them! My first one was a sailor moon style moon outline (black) on the back of my neck. My second one is all the way from just below my armpit down my ribs and a little onto my thigh. It's a black and white shaded by stippling. It is a floral piece with baby's breath, anemones, peonies, carnations, and violets. It took about 5 sessions around 5 hours long each. The ribs are quite sensitive, so I don't recommend it for those with a low tolerance of pain.

I have two. My first one is on my hip/thigh, it's a realistic butterfly. My second one I got was my family's birth flowers on my ribs - line art style.

They are both about the size of my hand.

I don't have any. I would like to get a tattoo of a small peace sign on my wrist, but part of me really doesn't want to. Not that I couldn't tolerate it, I have a high pain tolerance; I just imagine it being there and it bothers me for some reason, the though of a design being permanently etched in my skin...

Yeah, it is definitely a commitment. If you ever decide to get one, make sure you go to a good artist. Good tattoos aren't cheap, and cheap tattoos aren't good :)

EDIT: I suppose you could always get lucky though?

I do not have any tattoos, but I would consider getting one. I’m not a fan of needles, but I can handle them. Just the thought of the possible risk of infection or skin cancer terrifies me. I know it’s very unlikely, but I keep thinking that getting inked could result in skin cancer. If I were not so terrified of that, I would definitely consider getting a tattoo.

See, I thought about this before I got a tattoo too. Something permanently etched on your skin is just enough to drive you away.

nothing about us is permanent though we're all gonna die one day lol

Nope! But I do want some tiny ones on the inside of my wrist for either Animal Crossing or Undertale...

I've three currently and my half-sleeve is booked for next week. Very excited for this as it was meant to be done last week but my artist unfortunately had to reschedule last minute.

  • I've two Betta fish (my late pets, Roan and Paris) entwined on my shoulder blade
  • A geometric whale just above my left elbow joint
  • The words Lebe deinen Traum on my right forearm

I dont, though I constantly think of any new ideas that could possibly be done into a Tattoo.

On one Hand I really want a Tattoo, something with space, Video games or my cats.

On the other Hand there are far too many downsides of having a Tattoo to me. ther eis just nothing I would want on my Skin permanently. But I guess, when my cat has to go over the rainbow Bridge, I will get his paw-print tattooed somewhere on my Body because damn.. I adore this cat so so much..

I currently have 1, which is an arrow pointing left on my left wrist and my best friend has an arrow pointing right on her right wrist. We got them together when she came to London with me. It was her idea for the tat and my idea for them to be placed, since I'm a leftie and she's a rightie.

I'm also planning to get a medium size one on my thigh of a tiger later in the year, and after that a few more.

I have a dolphin above my left ankle that I got in July 2014 and the state of Utah with a maple leaf and my date of birth on my right arm. Got the Utah one in October 2016.

I have four and they're all terrible. The first was done by a friend of mine when I was in high school, the rest were done professionally, but they all came out really terrible and aged poorly. There's more I want done but I'd like to get these ones covered or removed first. It's a pretty big investment though.

i'm not sure how i feel about getting a tattoo tbh, it's something i change my mind on a lot. don't get me wrong it's absolutely someone's choice and i love them on other people, i think they can look beautiful but i'm not sure how i feel about something permanently etched on my skin forever.. if it were something i could remove at my own will i know for sure i would want one but the permanency scares me. it sounds stupid but i like the look of naked skin ahaha.

saying that, if i were too (and i really think i will someday tbh..) i'd love to have my favourite wild flowers on my back, i have pretty bad scarring so it would help me feel better about my back!

I have a few tattoos, most of which are video game related. Everyone told me not to get something video game/hobby related since I would end up regretting it but I don?t really care. If it?s something I like but end up not liking at some point then I figure it?ll just remind me of that time. I?d say get whatever you want as long as you make sure it?s high quality and done by a reputable artist. You don?t want something that comes out looking like **** because you went to a cheap artist. I have a ton more planned as well, most of which are video game themed as well lol

No, I don't. I've only ever had those stick-on tattoos, but not permanent ones. I don't think my family would be delighted if I were to get one, but I personally don't want one anyways.
