I don't. I prefer to listen to music when I'm more relaxed. When I'm busy or there are a bunch of other noises going on at the same time, I feel very anxious.
Yup. My family goes through a mountain of dishes everyday. I hate washing dishes, so I like to turn on a music streaming app; and listen to either Avicii or OneRepublic. It’s better than listening to my negative thoughts.
Oh yeah. We do a lot of cleaning, and I need something to distract me from the chaos and my negative thoughts. I have a playlist of about 20 comfort songs I just play on repeat.
It really depends. If it's a task that's really tedious and taking a long time, I will, but if it's something that needs more attention/detail I normally don't. Also I listen to it when I am exercising. It makes it a more enjoyable experience.
I listen to music while I’m doing a lot of things, so this is no exception. I find lofi beats relaxing, and it’s something different if I don’t feel like listening to words.
Yes, especially when I'm cleaning my room or folding laundry. I like to have shows or videos playing in the background too, but it's usually too distracting for me, so I opt for music instead.
Yessss. I always listen to music whether I'm cleaning, cooking, or doing the dishes. Listening to music makes a lot of chores almost enjoyable, for me anyway.
Yeah, either I put on the radio for mindless sounds and music or just some pop-esque stuff on my lappy to dance around to I suppose. Makes stuff more fun!
it depends on the chore, how long it’ll take to do it, and my mood. if it’s a chore like mopping or vacuuming, then no. but, if i’m doing something like putting away laundry or reorganizing my room, sometimes i’ll turn music on if i feel like it. i just want to get my chores over and done with, though, so i rarely think about putting on music lol.
It depends largely on how long I expect it will take me to do something as well as the environment I happen to be doing it in. I used to have quite a disdain for wireless headphones (and still think wired should be an option), but Bluetooth really is a bit of a lifesaver when doing lengthy garden work.
Yes, but I have a productivity playlist that has been pretty much the same thing for the last few years. Just a few songs I can listen to on repeat and sing along or head bop to while working. I'm not good at multitasking so when it comes to listening to a playlist/radio on shuffle for example, I'll completely ignore my task and just start listening to music lol. I will usually do that when I'm cleaning or doing more mindless things. Sometimes I can work to documentaries but I don't retain anything most of the time, it's just white noise.
This is me on a daily basis, I really can't function without some kind of music/people talking in general playing in the background, whether I'm showering, cooking, cleaning, etc. It sometimes helps me better cope with my insomnia and depression too, but there's such a thing as TOO much music because instead of trying to sleep or focus on my chores I get into the mood to draw all day lol I especially cannot draw without music, for me they go hand in hand. It's gotten to the point that I automatically associate certain activities and even the weather with certain kinds of music, some more obvious and fitting than others, such as wintry music when it snows and forest music when it's sunny.
Here's an example: as soon as it starts raining, this is what immediately plays in my mind and therefore I go to YouTube right away to have it playing in the background while I do whatever needs to be done around the house.
